I want to weld a bed rack for my 4th Tacoma with a 5ft bed, but I'm getting some measurement errors in these areas.

Why are you getting errors with your measurements?

The vertical measurement is a bit subjective since it's a curve. So three people will give you three numbers.

If three people give two different answers, I think it's likely to be fairly accurate. I know this approach isn't very rigorous, but I don't have a better method. Can you help me?

I'll try and remember this thread after dropping my son at school tomorrow, will take pics of the actual tape measure laid out as needed. Hopefully helps? Not sure why you can't just measure your own, unless making for a friend? No, you say " my 4th Tacoma with a 5ft bed ", how would anyone else's measurements be better than your own?

I’m as kind as they come Tony.. but I don’t believe that you want to make a rack for your own truck. Why ask us to provide you the dimensions? When it would seem as simple as just to go out to your truck with a tape measure and gather your own information. That is all, I say good day

DM sent, but not terribly useful. Another idea would be to just go to a toyota dealer and poke around in the lot. If a salesman asks, just say you need some info before making a purchase.
