Is the onboard Nav signal satellite based? I am planning a trip and there are places that the Cell will not work. Will the onboard system work without a cell signal?

Google maps will also let you download map areas ahead of your trip so that you won't have issues with cell reception.

From my understanding, no, it is not. Meaning it will not work without a cellular connection.

I have never used it, so take that with a grain of salt lol.
