I discovered this morning when removing my mudflap that the guy who did my rustreatment cut the felt liner instead of taking off the clips…

If anyone has a solution to fix it.

I don’t want to buy two new felt because of the price it cost…

The cut I behind the mudflap

I live in the rust belt so I am concern by all water and salt that can go there and rust the lower parts of my fender,

I live in the same province as you, I'm more then sure that will be fine, on a side note.. Do you want to buy a set of Rokblokz mudflaps for your truck to cover them? 😂

[my concern is about everything (mud, salt water) that are going to go in the fender because of this cut. The purpose is to have nothing going there

So my idea to fix it instead of spending money in new liner is to:
- back of the liner : patch with some strong waterproof fabric + PU adhesive
- bond the cut of the two liner together with the PU
- front : second patch, same as the first

And maybe sew everything together for more strength.

What to you think

Why not have the company that did it pay for the new liners. Seems like negligence to me.

Because I love in a small Town, where you have to take a boat (very complicated) to have it done by a company… so a few guy does it in their garage… so he doesn’t care because he has to many car to do.

So I am looking for a fix to don’t have to pay to replace it.

Think are also complicated because I have chimiotherapie for the next 6 months , don’t get a lot of energy and hard to look for solution to fix it because my lost of energy and capacity to sold an issue (so tired)

Sorry for my English my native language is French.

Fair enough makes sense.

I would consider blind stitching it back together from the back side with something strong like fishing braid. And coat the stitch on the back with some flexible epoxy.

The glue that they use for windshields would be perfect to seal this up.
It is tough and remains flexible.
