How does he even have this information? Is he getting this information from his dealer? I haven't heard anything from my dealer other than "it's allocated for Feburary, I have your name on it"

Right? What kind of way to talk to a customer is that? I have had zero trouble with Toyota dealers near me that i find this insane.

This is at Thousand Oaks Toyota in Los Angeles. They just so happen to have the exact spec I want coming in via Smartpath. If you see the reviews from this dealership, this isn't anything new. Super shady dealership from the get-go.

Don't buy from these dealerships. People can't buy Tacomas as it is, and they want to tack on another 7500$ of nothing. Good luck with that.

Stopped by my local dealer, Town and Country Toyota (Charlotte, NC) on Saturday. This is a big dealership which is part of the Sonic Automotive Group. Asked a salesmen when the new model would be in and feeling them out for pricing (MSRP and/or ADM). Right off the back I can expect a minimum $5k ADM for the TRD-Pro and Trailhunter.

One more greedy dealership taking advantage of limited supply and high demand. Told the sales guy I work too hard to piss money away and I might be back when a reasonable price (MSRP or lower) is a reality.

For me, it’s not about what I can afford as much as the principle of paying more than MSRP. To the fat cats paying ADM, good for you. To the ones paying ADM and can’t afford it, take a pause and think about it…. Is it really worth sticking you neck out? F- the dealerships who are pulling these D-bag moves. The FTC will hopefully fix these shady dealers by mid summer.

Yeah, basically they are trying to get 63K for what equates to upper end of the middle tier trim; a TRDOR with premium package and a few accessories. Such a joke. This is basically the exact spec I wanted, so I thought I would reach out, but I guess I'll just wait for the dealership I put a deposit on for MSRP to get allocated.
