Love the look of it always thought the 4th gen's engine bay looked so messy and I love the styling this cover provides.

I assume that if you put Loctite on the mounting brackets it might dry before you got around to tightening them, but I always like to use it when installing aftermarket goodies! And would you comment on if the interior noise was reduced after the cover install? Thanks for this!

Is there a reason why toyota opted to not use an engine cover for the tacoma?

All other toyota/lexus vehicles with this engine has one.

I remember people used to complain about engine covers for the longest time, now people are complaining that they left it open lol. Would reduce engine noise a bit but thats about it.

I'm not complaining, just wondering why it's not there when every other variation of this engine has it. Looks like it's toyota just trying to save money, while charging much more.

Engine covers also reduce engine noise, especially high pressure fuel pumps and injectors. I wonder if a factory engine cover would quiet the engine at all, or if it even needs it. I haven't driven one yet so I can't comment on how loud or quiet the engine is.

In the technical review by the Car Care Nut on Youtube (posted elsewhere on the forum today) he mentions that the engine is very quiet and that there is soundproofing materials around it, just no engine cover. I seem to remember another review questioning why there wasn't any sound insulation material on the hood, they seemed to think it could use more.
