I wanted to share a little find for those of you rocking the new 2024 or 2025 Tacoma. I decided to take a bit of a gamble on a hood protector I saw on Alibaba, mostly because I was looking for something a bit more substantial than the typical plastic deflectors you see everywhere.

The price was the first thing that caught my eye. They have them listed for around $25, and with another $20 for shipping, you're looking at $45 total. I actually managed to get my unit for $45 at my door, but even at the current price and factoring in tariffs, it still feels like a massive bargain for what you’re getting.

The package took about 3 weeks to show up at my door, so you definitely need a little patience if you decide to pull the trigger. Once it arrived, I was honestly surprised by how well it was made. It fit the lines of the truck perfectly and the installation was about as easy as it gets. It is a great alternative if you want something that feels a bit more rugged than plastic, and while I know the aesthetic might not be everyone's cup of tea, I think it looks sharp.

I am not getting any kickbacks or benefits for posting this. I just wanted to pass the word along to the community because it’s a solid deal that works exactly as advertised. If you are looking to save some cash and don't mind the wait, I'd say go for it. You can find it at the link below.

Just what I was looking for. Ordered mine now. It's free shipping, so the full price for me was $25 US dollars. I'm in Canada, I don't expect to pay any tariffs. Great looking product, looking forward to installing it.

You do you and who cares what others think.
I have been hesitate to install one just like it that I bought on Amazon over a year ago.
If you find the time and remember in 6 months, I would like to know how well it has stayed on.
IMHO it looks good, definitely better than the other one I bought from Lexland that is ridge and in 3 pieces. I am not quite happy with this one either 😉.
Thanks for the post

Theres a few vendors here advertising and selling them on Amazon too. Those definitely not at that price. I've been eyeballing it but still on the fence. Worried it would damage paint over time, similar to how the car bras and old poly bug deflectors did by trapping dirt and cleaning chemicals.

That's been one of the reasons I haven't installed either one of the 2 choices I have, since they are just held on by a double stick adhesive tape on the edges. Even if I installed tape in the center, over time like you mentioned dirt will collect?
I am looking into having the nose sprayed with bed liner as an option.

If you can't make it air tight, dust will get in. You can't make it air tight, or the thing would expand like a balloon an probably pop off in the summer sun.

Something to consider with bedliner too, is that it will fade. There's no product that won't, that's just what UV does. But if your willing to scuff up the paint to bedliner it, might as well do it after the paint is damaged anyway. A tip is you go that route, a bit of tire shine brings the gloss and darkens up old bedliner if you don't mind it being a bit slick. Works great on old carc paint too if you ever buy an old HMMWV.

This may qualify me for at least a bronze metal in the cringey adds to the truck competition.
I had been considering a bug deflector that sticks up (and does not attach to the hood aside from edge mounting points) because that should help keep small rocks from hitting the windshield as well as some of the bugs, but now that I have full PPF on the hood, I am considering this because it both sticks up, sticks on, and has these goofy ass lights. I don’t need lights but think they look cool in this picture. It is probably hormonal, but that’s fine.

That mounts the same as the Lexland 3 piece I have now. Dust and dirt will still get in. That's why I'm on the fence to install it.
