So my 26 off-road with 1200kms now needs a new shortblock. Apparently there is metal contamination in the oil which they believe has plugged an oil galley. No idea how long this will take. Sounds like dirty block like the tundras or something is letting go inside the engine. Who knows. Toyota Canada hasn’t reached out today which I’m pissed about.

Insane unfortunate luck. Tell them to just buy this one back and give you the lowest mileage 2021 they can find. Id be pissed in your boat also.

Update. My new block got dropped in shipping, scrapped and now a new one is on the way. Another week at least.

I just watched a YouTube video where a Toyota tech was troubleshooting an engine oil leak out of the rear main seal. The truck had about 200 miles on it! After pulling the seal, the tech noted the oil galley holes on each side of the crankshaft flange....these provide lubrication for the seal. However, when he inspected the hole at the lower end (the oil return port) he found that the engine block had not been machined all the way through....oil was being pumped into the rear main but it was not draining out. Seems to me to be a simple fix...drill the hole out so that the oil can drain, but since this was a new vehicle, they swapped the short block.

Mine had metal in the oil. Going to arbitration.

Man, this is wild. I wouldn't blame you for not wanting a 4th gen anymore. What outcome are you hoping for at this point?

I’m advocating for a buy back. I’m putting my case together now and have launched the initial contact with CAMVAP.

I had my truck one week and Toyota finished it 6weeks after that (Yesterday). I have not picked it up yet. I work 50+hrs per week
