Stock SR5 4x4, has very little perceivable rake, I had this tire planned a ways before I got the truck, I’m surprised as popular as it was on the much narrower gen3 I’m the first I’ve seen to do this size on a gen4.

I was looking at this tire as a matching spare that doesn't stick to far out the bottom. Matching means 5 identical tires.

The spare tire is 9.6" and there is another thread where someone put a 285/70 R 17 on as a spare. It works but sticks down farther as it is 11.2" wide

I don't like off-roading without a matched spare so was thinking this would fit better in the spare spot. There is a cross member that prevents the tire from going higher against the bed.

BTW, that also fits in the spare tire spot.

Did you keep the stock steel spare tire rim? Trying to figure out what size tire will reasonably fit on the spare. Having a stock spare that's almost 2" smaller diameter is a total cheapout on Toyota's part. The 245/70R17 is hardly a "full size." It's more like a smedium size.

I bought a TRD Off road rim that matched the other 4 for the new spare. The old one is in my garage, not sure what I am going to do with it. The spare is is the same size as the 4 I just put on 255 80 r17's Toyo AT3's. That is 33.1" tall.

Do you recall the part number for the oem trd OR rim/wheel? I couldn't figure it out from the Toyota website, and the rim didn't have anything on it suggesting it's number. I like the idea of a fifth matches wheel/tire.

I did find that the steel spare wheel is a 7" wide wheel, so that should make finding a tire easy.
