  1. Dash Cam and rear cam on tailgate

Thinking about putting in a dash cam and would like a rear cam to go with it. FITCAMX looks like what I want but the rear cam mounts in the rear window and I have a topper which would block the view. Anyone know of any camera systems that mount to the tailgate?
  2. ARB Soft Shackle - Save a $

    I got a Factor55 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BBWG5SKX?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_1&th=1 I've not had to use it.
  3. SmartCap Adventure Topper Installed

Shipping was included. I don't recall if that was a limited time offer or not. Got it through Offroad Alliance
  4. SmartCap Adventure Topper Installed

Had mine shipped to my house. Had to drag it down my driveway though (gravel). You do want to torque the bolts correctly. And even then, I had some problems with the seal puffing out. One thing I would do differently is to superglue the entire length of the bottom gaskets instead of just the ends.
  5. Poor gas mileage

Yep. The very first time I did a tank-to-tank calculation of MPG I got 26.3. That was before I had 1000 miles on the truck. If you live somewhere that you do a lot of stop and go, drive at high speeds (I've seen a lot of comments saying that they "only" go 10 mph over the speed limit), or have a...
  6. Anyone get app alert about a recall for rear brake lines ?

Huh, they've expanded it. Used to be just 4x4 vehicles with 17" wheels. No fix mentioned yet though.
  7. 3rd party accessories for SmartCap toppers.

Finally located my round to-it and did some drop-in screens for the side sliders. A bit crude but I couldn't talk myself into buying a 3-d printer just for this. Had some 3/8 HDPE kicking around and between wood router bits, an oscillating saw and some utility knife work I got something built...
  8. 2024 Hitch Skids

Which one? The Reno Slider looks about as compact as you can get. The DRT looks like you could cut the eye off. There's another entry since this thread started. https://www.tacomalifestyle.com/products/torq-hitch-skid-plate If you search on Amazon for "hitch skid plate" there are quite a few...
  9. JBL Bluetooth speaker….

Mines on a shelf in the garage. I was occasionally parking in the street at my son's apartment in CA so I took it out. Haven't missed it.
  10. My current MPG in my 25’ TrailHunter

Yep. If it were me, I'd fill up, find a route where I could drive 100 miles at 65 or so without any stop and go, reset a trip meter and do a round-trip using cruise control. Then fill up again and calculate mpg. If it was still below 16, I'd head right to the dealer.
  11. Monthly Payments!

Yeah, my "privilege" came from 10 years of putting every extra dime against debt. No new cars, no air travel, no resort vacations... Started that before I'd even heard of Dave Ramsey.
  12. What Happens to the Navigation feature when the subscription expires

Just to clarify. Does Toyota navigation generate new driving instructions while off-line? Google maps will not. I downloaded the maps for the area I was going ghost town touring and after using directions to get to one I could not get new directions to head back the way I came. Used the Garmin...
  13. What Happens to the Navigation feature when the subscription expires

Does Toyota navigation compute paths without cell coverage? Google maps will work offline if you download the maps, but it won't calculate a path.
  14. Premium Fuel or Regular

No, because it says 87 is fine so you don't need to run higher (but you can if you want).
  15. Fuel gauge issue

P90 PS: "On" means "turn on without starting".
  16. Fuel gauge issue

Ditto with one proviso. The gauge needs to be accurate and not need to be "reset" all the time.
  17. EPA to ban the Start/Stop Feature [LOCKED DUE TO POLITICS]

Wouldn't take much of a re-design, just a software change. For hybrids, it's one of the things that hybrids are designed to do. They have the power to start accelerating without the engine running.
  18. Android Auto wireless option disappeared?

I don't recall if the option disappeared or not but I did have an incident where I had to connect by USB to pair the phone and get the app to connect. There was a message on the screen that told me to use the USB port. After the app got set up again, I was able to unplug and use it wirelessly.
  19. NEW! TRUMGETA Roof Rack Cross Bars Kit for 2024+ Tacoma – Heavy-Duty & Easy Install!

Just to verify. Are the crossbars removable? Can they be mounted anywhere on the rails or just in the positions shown?
