  1. Ruissimo’s Ownership Blog – The 2024 Toyota Tacoma Trailhunter

Oh of course thanks Rui! Don’t ask me why I didn’t think of it. The hook side of Velcro would just stick right to the carpet easily enough.
  2. Ruissimo’s Ownership Blog – The 2024 Toyota Tacoma Trailhunter

Thanks for a great write up! Can I ask, how did you attach the patches to the carpet? This is an idea I’ve had for my car, why not document your travels? But I wasn’t sure how to actually do this.
  3. Long Term Ownership Plans For Your Tacoma 4th Gen? (15-20 Years)

Nothing like working old SUVs like trucks.
  4. Long Term Ownership Plans For Your Tacoma 4th Gen? (15-20 Years)

My plan is to keep my next car a decade or more. I used to be able to keep them that long & truly get my value out of them, but the last couple I’ve had have been quick turns. You wind up using, and paying for, only the most expensive part of a new vehicle then without getting a good lifespan...
  5. Just picked up my 2024 TRD Pro. Traded my 2002 1st gen that I've had since new.

Wow 22 years, that’s quite the impressive run! Congrats & enjoy your new one.
  6. My baby got totaled in head-on collision @ 90mph (photos & video)

Wow. I am so happy you walked away from this. God was definitely looking out for you! Prayers for the people in the other car for sure. It’s odd how slow motion the dash cam makes everything look. But with the speeds involved you’d have zero fault with zero time to react. I hope you’re...
  7. 2025 Nissan Frontier

I can certainly get liking a different truck. There isn’t a bad choice. But in this market it seems Toyota remains the default choice & holding value that well means a lot even if you do plan to keep it forever.
  8. Going from full size to 2024 Tacoma?

Keep us up to date on what you think of it! An F-150 was my all time favorite should not have sold vehicle. But they are awfully large for parking around the city. SO I bought a good sized city car which is too small, so now thinking a midsize may be the way to go.
  9. [Picture] Which one of y'all will be getting a call from your dealer 🤣 Trailer carrying new Tacomas flips on highway

As epic as all the comments are, does anybody actually know what would happen in a situation like this? Instant write offs? I know the dealer couldn’t sell as new now, would they be repaired & put on the used side?
  10. YOUR (honest) Pros & Cons of the 4th Gen?

Thanks Dave. I too think my F150 did what it needed to when I had it. Now my challenge is to find what will serve my purpose & life now. I need to get over to the dealer I think & finally check out a Taco in person.
  11. YOUR (honest) Pros & Cons of the 4th Gen?

Thanks James. That was my thing in selling the F150, didn’t need a 1/2 ton any longer. With a move to the city surely I could get by with a compact car? I can, but only if I don’t want to leave the city for any length of drive.
  12. YOUR (honest) Pros & Cons of the 4th Gen?

Any second guessing the downsize at all? An F150 was the best car I’ve ever owned & while I regret downsizing one size too small, a full size truck in the city I think might not be ideal. A midsize might be just right.
  13. Sport v Limited

https://www.toyota.com/tacoma/features/mpg_other_price/7534/7530/7598 Aside from the full time AWD on the limited there are a few other things it looks like you’d give up. HUD & power running boards. Limited has adaptive variable suspension option. I’d go limited myself, but I’m a ā€˜tick...
  14. Insurance company cancelled my 2024 Tacoma policy because I went to the UPS Store

Good luck with it! Honestly shopping for insurance there sounds awful & I thought it was bad enough here. I won’t disagree, I’m sure there are many eBay resellers at UPS every day not claiming business use. It’d suck though if insurance denied a claim & Iā€˜m sure they look for every piece of...
  15. Insurance company cancelled my 2024 Tacoma policy because I went to the UPS Store

The trips to the UPS store are business use aren’t they, or is this just personal pickups? Which non-personal use typically has to be disclosed to your insurance company, at risk of them denying a claim of course if you don’t, though I’m not certain of the specifics there. I’m not sure how...
  16. Changing Fahrenheit to Celsius on cabin displays

I never even thought about this. Is there an option to change whether it displays in F or C?
  17. Anyone in Canada getting any dealer updates?

Ah yes, both very nice trucks, but definitely 2 very different vehicles. Thanks for sharing pics!
  18. Build & Price Configurator is up for Hybrid 2024 Tacomas + Accessories! Share Your Build Inside

Thanks for the tip! Hmm.. not hard to hit $70K with a few accessories with the hybrid. I bet you could touch $100K at the top end!
  19. Anyone in Canada getting any dealer updates?

Got any good pics to share? Sounds like a great purchase for you! Though you mention a CX-5, your vehicle I notice is an F150. How does the Taco compare to that can I ask? A much loved (& shouldn’t have sold) F150 is still my gold standard for all other vehicle comparisons.
  20. Greetings to all!

Not boring. Always interesting to read others’ thought processes & reasoning to see where their head is at. Might help narrow down a guy’s own thoughts. I’m here & still haven’t decided on Taco vs. LC. Vs. 4R. Maybe GX? Or stick with Ford & go Ranger. So I hear ya for sure on jumping...
