to me it looked like it could, but I saw a few reels from manufacturers saying it looks to them like it will need a body mount chop to fit a larger tire.
Interesting that they did it on hurrah. It’s such a busy trail, how did they do it without getting at least cell phone shots taken? I wonder if they have drones up in the sky watching for other vehicles or something. It would be fun to be apart of something like that.
This is in Utah or AZ. This was probably taken wherever they have been doing these other teaser shots. These 2 trucks will probably be the ones at the Overland Expo this weekend.
Interesting that the TH looks to be matte black. No hood scoop on it, so Pro I assume has the exclusive top of the...
500 at both dealers I have one with. I did 2 so I have a choice of allotments. I have so many vehicle deposits right now! It’ll be time to decide what I’m buying soon!
Toyota basically said if you want to tow, buy a Tundra and that the Tacoma is more of a lifestyle truck. So I’m not sure it will match the Ranger on this front but who knows.
I’m with you there. My buddies 19 Ranger has more payload than most Tundras do. I think that’s what the Trail Hunters purpose is. I’ve heard different media outlets call it a “pack mule” variant.
Since it’s all after market parts, I’m curious how Toyota is pulling it off.
Luckily we are only a...
I'm with you but heres the deal with Toyota. They are notorious for being 5+ years behind on features. Other manufactures use cutting edge tech, which results in problems a lot of the time. Toyota seems to give technology time to become proven, mainstream and reliable before the integrate it...
We know ARB did on this one, and I assume CBI as well. If Toyota is smart, they let lots of companies in on it. Or at least between now and launch. That was a huge part of the Bronco success.
Yes they are functional. The tundra and sequoia have smaller radiators hidden back there. These new turbo/hybrids need a lot of cooling. I imagine the Tacoma will be slightly less complicated for the sake of being geared towards offroaders and overlanders but who knows.
I love the lines on this thing. It looks mean! I found this one Facebook. Crappy screenshot quality but the contrast really makes that hood stand out. The bulges on the hood look like the head muscles of my pit bull.
I’ve wondered that as well. A long travel setup would make sense for both Pro and TH for articulation to be more competitive, and it would allow larger tires. I’m not going to hold my breath on it but it would be incredible to have a truck designed with long travel from the factory. It would...
It’s not too soon. I have had 1 deposit for over a year at one dealership, and another one for 6 months.
I also have deposits on other vehicles in case this thing disappoints. It looks good, but function over form for me.
I like a functional hood scoop. Because from what I understand the turbo is cooled on the 2.4 by air going over the top of the engine, so this hood scoop could add to that cooling effect.
I hope the Trailhunter is this aggressive looking.
I was going to say the same thing. All of the lower end work truck Tacomas may get leaves. That pretty interesting that they are separating them like that, which is what a lot of people want. A cheap truck, or you can spend and get the high end version which actually has way more advantages this...
I do hope the Trailhunter can be purchased without some of the add ons. The snorkel I am all for, I wouldnt own an overland vehicle without one. The skid plates, useless "chase rack", and that particular roof rack wouldn't work for me. Also, I am curious if the Trailhunter is getting the top...
