Most IB subs Iāve seen have had pretty big magnets on them, so space constraints are a problem with the factory āenclosure ā. I personally am going to give up part or all of my undersea space in the rear for the enclosure, unless TacoTunes gets their act together.
And dont forget the PAC...
Nope. I donāt even HAVE my truck yet. Been waiting months. I do know the JBL system is trash though, thatās why Iām planning on pulling it. And, of course, all the research Iāve done so far.
Well, Toyota, in their infinite wisdom, reduced the output of the rear speakers from the headunit through the amp. Swapping speakers wonāt do much, if anything. Doesnāt matter what the ohm load is of the new speakers.
What youāre asking isnt possible. At least 1 of the lug bolts on a spacer would be too close to the existing bolts on the Tacoma, and be a major failure point, as you describe it āat 65 mphā.
Cool! Glad I didn't scare you away.
Are you talking about the factory sub? That's an Infinite Baffle setup on the new Tacoma, basically the sub vents to the outside of the cab. Keeps weight down some for Toyota, in the name of MPGEEEEEZ!
I'm actually planning to go underseat for my sub...
Well, it sounds like you are almost there, with regards to pulling the trigger. By that, I mean you know what you want.
What to get, well, that's a little harder. TBH, you won't get well rounded bass out of door speakers, they just don't make them to play low enough, so a sub is on order...
With the stock speakers? I can give you a good, solid āMAYBEā. Only because in the JBL system, the speakers are usually 3ohm, so the amp gives them a bit of a boost, making it a little louder, which you MAYBE percieve as better.
I was operating under the assumption of replacing the speakers...
Iām also planning on an Audison setup.
With the PAC module (I assume thatās the first line), you can use the new Forza line, the AP M8.14 bit or 12.14 bit, and use an optical cable from the PAC module into the Forza amp, so you donāt have to de-EQ the system first. You can run āAccordoā (the...
Iāve been using the Cooper tires in my ā06 for about a year now, and I love them. They do well in all but the iciest of conditions here in Canada, but Iām okay with that. I have an open diff on my ā06 SR, and I really donāt have problems getting going unless I hammer the loud pedal, then I get...
Thanks for the link. Cheap peace of mind. Iāve just recently had someone try to steal my wheels and tires, my wheel locks stopped them. Weāre going to need Star Trek forcefields soon to protect our stuff.
What do you listen to, music or podcasts? Whatās your flavor?
The door speakers are mid-bass speakers, from my research playing from 110Hz to around 1500Hz. Then the sound goes up to the mids in the dash which play from there. If you listen to mostly spoken word content, you wonāt notice the...
