Since you were crawling around down there, did you happen to notice if there was space in front of/behind the fuel tank to accept a larger one? 18 Gallons is just not enough. My 19 Ranger had an 18 gallon tank and it sucked to have to get gas every 350 miles or so on a trip. I'm sure there...
Stock stereo systems are rarely good. Tuning knobs are probably going the way of the dodo as well. We're lucky we have a volume knob. You'll get used to the buttons on the steering wheel. I'm not that worried about it since I mostly listen to books or podcasts in the car anyway, but if...
I'm sure there will be plenty of people here ripping them off their Sports and SR5s. There will probably be plenty of them for sale soon. Assuming, of course, the bolt points are on the OR which I'm sure they are.
I think this happens quite a bit when there's a new model coming out. Not to mention the Gen3 was pretty long in the tooth. I'm sure 2024 numbers will be good. I'm just hoping they start throwing out some incentives in the next month :)
These are for sure production models for sale. Toyota of Kent sent me photos from the showroom and tried to get me to come buy it. It's not what I want, but they are for sure for sale.
Yeah, I've been thinking about those as well. I'm thinking of popping those off, 3D scanning them, and printing new ones so I can hydro-dip different colors/patterns for some fun.
Yeah, that's the worst one. These options highlight how convoluted the Toyota process is. They are 'Port Options,' not dealer options. Sometimes the dealer can get them swapped for something equal, but they can't remove them from what I understand. I guess this is how the Distributors get...
I think they'll sell fine. Some people actually like cloth seats (not me) and there are reasons people don't like the ZR2 and Gen3 Tacomas. I looked at the ZR2, and while it has a lot of bang for the buck, it just felt cheap. I still think Toyota will sell every one of these they make.
I know. I don't understand why they configured so many like this. For 53K you can have one with the Premium package and get the seats and everything in this one plus a few more items. I agree, 52K cloth seats is crazy though.
Well, that's a good question. I'd image the gauge should be reasonably accurate, but the DTE would be off. The ECU is supposed to figure it out over time, but you may have to calculate your own mileage. It'll probably think you get like 70mpg. I'm going to ask my Toyota contact if it can be...
Also, it may take some time to get accurate measurements, but I'm hoping I can put in a 32G tank from the Tundra. Supposed to be the same frame, but shorter, and they look very similar visually.
1. Well, I don't think the TRD OR comes with an Air Dam, but if I end up picking the sport, it will come off immediately.
2. Tires. I work for Goodyear so they will swap out the stock tires for any Goodyear Tire for free. Probably get Duratrac RT. Maybe Territory, but the RTs have better...
That's funny... I like the bar in the bed. I was looking at AM options, but maybe I'll just wait until the Trailhunter comes out and buy one from someone who rips it off.
It will be interesting, but from what I've read the Hybrid may not tow as much as the standard. I know that's counterintuitive but I believe it's from the reduced payload due to the batteries. Also not sure it'll be worth the money since it's likely the hybrid is for power, not efficiency...
