I had the same quandary. In my research, I did find the the OffRoad typically had a little better resale. The locker also makes a huge difference. You can always swap the hood on an offroad, but you cannot add the locker. I actually plan on doing that next year. As far as the suspension...
Some are, but there are good ones. I've known the service manager at my Toyota dealership in Akron since we were both kids. He's an awesome guy who really cares about his customers. Sometimes it's not the about the codes, just that they simply do not know. The Tacoma is so new they don't...
Yes, it does. Cap comes with it's own light and the inside lights up with the side lights built in the bed. I relocated the digital rear view camera using the kit from GGOffroad. I eventually printed a mount and poked the camera through the back of the cap. Still tweaking the design, but...
I just wish Toyota would be proactive about this. There has to be some way to tell if there is debris or not. From what I'm gathering it came from the Torque converters. There were a few early replacements that broke, but at the time they didn't know what was going on and didn't replace the...
The system is very sensitive. When they were working installing my cap, they did something and it started throwing codes. Tons of them. Before I even knew what was happening, my dealer was calling me asking me to bring it in immediately. I cleared the codes in the shop with Carista (I had it...
I would love that part number as well. If I can't find a trade for a black one by spring, I'm going to order one. Your dealer could probably help. Go on their site and get a VIN from a sport and they should be able to pull up the part number and order for you.
If I recall, this was asked of Sheldon Brown. He said it was deliberate so it had some give if it got a knee offroading or something like that. I would also imagine that it would reduce stress on the plastic when offroading as well. If I had a pavement princess, I might consider printing up a...
I can't believe the dealer is giving you a hard time on that one. I'd try another or call Toyota. It's clearly not supposed to behave that way. Most of these service techs haven't seen enough of these yet to know how they're "supposed" to act. They get paid for the warranty work. They...
Looks like a money grab. I wonder if he even has a 24 Tacoma. Saw the YouTube videos, did some googling and had an ambulance chaser attorney file a lawsuit hoping for a settlement. edit.. Just read the article and apparently he does own a Tacoma. His Trans hasn't failed, just shifts poorly...
No, there aren't. Pre Covid it was perfectly normal to have many cars on the lots. You know why the manufacturers are making 4 door 5' bed trucks? Because that's what people buy. Do you think they're all just clueless? You can still do truck stuff without that extra 12" in the bed. I'm...
We all have stupid little dealbreakers. Mine for Chevy was front parking sensors :). I wasn't going back to an 8" screen so the Frontier was out. I wasn't getting another Ford after they were refusing to recall my 21 F150 valves because they were sure that most that had the issue had already...
I did the things listed above and also turned on the feature that opens all my windows if I hold unlock on my fob. I got an email saying they had more features available, so I'm going to check it out again.
Yes, if someone could post the signal wiring, that would be great. I have them installed and used a fuse tap in the box near the wiper fluid that only runs on accessory. I haven't hooked up the signal wires yet because I haven't had time to explore which wire controls the signal.
