I haven’t noticed anything egregious yet. Engine runs pretty smooth. I run premium fuel, not sure if that makes a difference. Speculating but possibly the advanced timing negates that? Who knows. I imagine if it’s something unreasonable there will be a fix in time.
Anyone else experience the RPMs dip from a stop once you hit about 2200 RPM? It will hit the RPM and then drop just a bit and then continue gaining revs. I wish it was a bit more linear in its power delivery off the jump. Not a big deal by any means but wondering if this is normal operation? I’m...
I must be in the minority to prefer a raked truck. I think it gives an aggressive stance and obviously is better for payload, towing, and MPGs. I think the TRD Pro stance is perfect. Some day I’ll look into achieving that with my OR.
Yeah, I’m sure the ARB are more hardy but it also appears that you’d need the bumper to pair with it. I’m getting the OEM Toyota attachments as a little bit of truck bling, no more, no less. They’ll be used infrequently, if at all. ARB are definitely the way to go if you plan on using them...

Love the truck but don’t find the rattle acceptable. I’ve sent an email to the Service manager at my dealer to get his thoughts. Seems like this has been an issue with Tacoma’s for a long time.
Anyone else genuinely impressed with how the 4G Tacoma handles itself on the road? I’m coming from a 3 series BMW and while it’s clearly no comparison it’s certainly a far cry from the typical “truck” dynamics. Half ton pick ups drive like a boat in comparison. Loving this chassis, engine, and...
Not sure why anyone would opt for this one over the OEM version given the price equivalence. It also doesn’t add 5 horsepower since it lacks the TRD lettering. Pass.
Anything further to add? I’d like to take mine in to be addressed but hoping to get more feedback on what actually works before they go tearing my door panel apart.
Happy with the build quality of mine so far. Well put together. Just need to address the window rattle issue and then also I’ve recently gotten a sensor malfunction error for the safety systems. I didn’t expect it to be a perfectly sorted truck given it’s a the first year of a new gen. No complaints
Honestly, who gives a shit. It’s a truck. If you’re bent over gas expenses then buy a Prius. I’ve gotten 24 mpg out of mine and I’ve gotten 12 depending on the trip. People complaining on here about the mpgs on a truck are laughable. No one buys a Tacoma for the fuel economy.
