@JeffG I looked up this thread because I remembered reading it and being glad my Pro wasn't doing anything like that. That was until today, when it did it with constant throttle between 30-40 mph. It was exactly like what you described. It felt like the engine was constantly cutting in and out...
@TrustButVerify Thanks, that is interesting information. I wonder if dealers ever use TechStream to check ATF condition or if they only check if there is a complaint.
There is no excuse for a dealer not being able to recognize a stock suspension on one of their own products, no matter how rare. I have never really trusted most dealers, but my opinion has actually gone down lately.
Definitely take your truck to an alignment shop @JayZap because that dealer...
On trucks with power tailgates you can open it whenever the key is in range, whether the truck cab is unlocked or not. It is probably different on trucks without power tailgates.
I bought body color mirror caps for my Limited Tundra and it made my truck look a lot better. That Underground Limited looks really good that way.
The door handles are a nice change too, but just doing the mirrors makes a huge difference IMO.
@WKTJR1 That is my experience too, and I am getting basically the same mileage as your are. My mileage has improved and comes very close to the EPA ratings as I have put more miles on my truck.
I understand why people get frustrated when they see mileage 10 mpg below the estimates, which I saw...
I wonder why a lot of us don't trust dealer service? Maybe because for everything they fix they break something else. Get that truck towed to the dealer asap.
I agree that the mileage on 4th gen hybrids is lower than advertised, although mine keeps improving as I add more miles. I'm not sure a class action suit is possible though, because Toyota did not make those mileage estimates, the EPA did. Toyota is required to put them on the sticker, but they...
Oh yeah, these trucks do all kinds of things when they are not running. That makes it even more important that they keep the 12 volts fully charged IMO. My battery is never above 12.3 volts, even after a full day of driving, so it doesn't take much to run it down.
That's the problem though, isn't it? Do we even know for sure what the numbers are? I see different numbers from various Toyota dealers and shops. It doesn't seem like there are clear and correct numbers for them to use.
That is interesting. My CarPlay stays reliably connected and I never allow my phone to connect to random networks. Any new network connection would kill the one between your phone and your truck. It is a bad idea anyway to allow automatic connections anyway, because they can be a security...
