Yeah - I think you are right. The Pro color gets some cred during its exclusive year and that makes it more special and desirable when it moves to other trims. It is mostly marketing IMO.
This is all just the normal color evolution in our trucks. Mudbath is the Pro exclusive color in 2025 and will be available on the Off Road in 2026. That is also how it worked for Solar Octane and Terra.
Yep - my jump pack is in my glove box because it is just a matter of time until the battery gets so low the truck won't turn on. My wife's Lexus BEV SUV discharged its battery, the dealer tested the battery and it was fine. Their only suggestions was that she needed to not stay logged into the...
I'm surprised your truck is still starting with such a low state of charge. I drove 5 hours of mostly highway today and mine is sitting at 12.3 volts, which is actually higher than normal. Keeping a battery at that low a charge will eventually kill it, and it sounds like yours might already be...
Well at least it isn't a lot of Toyotas, only certain Toyota Venza, Crown, Crown Signia, RAV4, GR Corolla, 4Runner, Camry, Grand Highlander, Tacoma, Highlander, and certain Lexus LS, RX, and TX vehicles, numbering 591,000. Ouch!
Yeah, that would definitely do the job, but as you said it is expensive. That might be my best solution but I was hoping not to spend so much money. I also think some rewiring will be needed so we can lower the gain on that center speaker.
Yes, it just adds gain to the head unit, and I already have a Beatsonic installed. It does help the sound more than I expected, but definitely doesn't fix it. I think the real solution will be replacing everything from the head unit through the speakers.
It really needs a better amp and a DSP...
Thanks for that info @SpartanCaptain. It would be interesting to see how those speakers work with the Beatsonic amp. To get the best performance they probably need a new amp and DSP and just ditch most of the JBL electronics.
I was just changing my truck's oil yesterday and looking at the plastic plugs that stop the noise. Do a search on the forum where you can find the plugs and placements in the control arms that will stop that.
Yeah, my 12 volt is almost always around 12.2 volts. Hybrids don't usually start from the 12 volt but from the hybrid battery, so it seems like your 12 volt is maybe too low to operate the electronics. Hopefully your trickle charger will provide enough charge to get the system running again.
My guess is that the fan was not unplugged for the brake line recall, but for the trailer BSM update. We already know the BSM fix requires unplugging the fan, and that sometimes it is not plugged back in after that is done.
My Pro has a similar upper panel, and the TH probably does as well, so there should be options for that upgrade. I wouldn't call that panel soft on my truck, but it is not hard plastic.
I agree with @SpartanCaptain. Unless we are willing to rewire our trucks there are real limits to what we can do with our sound systems.
This is a great thread and I hope some solutions emerge that will let us get decent sound without rewiring the whole truck.
I agree with @TCW1184. I have driven trucks my whole life and clunky truck transmissions are not really all that common. Even my 2005 Tacoma shifted as smooth as silk, and my Tundra did too. Of course the 5.7L drivetrain in my Tundra was shared with the expensive LC, so I assume more was...
Even though I don't like it a lot, hard shifts seems to be how these transmissions work and how they were designed. I get an occasional hard shift out of park and into drive or reverse when first starting my truck. After that it is smooth as silk. Lots of 8-speeds in other Toyota vehicles have...
Luckily my seat does not do this since no dealers seem willing to open up these seats. It is amazing how many things are just features of the truck and you wonder why they never showed up in the ads.
From some generic AI searching it seems that as long as the transmission fluid temp is below 225 it should be fine. I do wonder if the high temps might shorten the fluid life or if there is a good way to tell when it really needs changed.
