So your dealer took pictures but has not said what they will do? I guess at this point it might be up to Toyota. Is it only on the hood or on the rest of the truck too? I would really not want a repaint on such a new truck, which I guess means a replacement.
Good luck and keep us posted.
Thanks for the info. I don't think I want E rated tires either, but I will be upgrading my tires before I do any serious off roading. These C rated tires seem like a good choice and I am hoping for more options by the time I am ready to upgrade. Look forward to hear more about the Goodyears...
Here is another vote for Griots products. They helped me keep a black car looking nearly perfect for years. Hard water spots are tough, but I could never see them on my white or silver vehicles. They are really bad on black paint though, particularly if it does not have a clear coat.
Years ago US car maker service departments were famous for telling customers, "they all do that" and now Toyota dealers say "could not duplicate" or "normal operation". New language that still translates to say to they could GAF. A Lexus dealership once responded to a question about my SC300...
True, and that could have just been dealer bs. But I assume there are other ways a compressor could fail that make it harder to turn but not have seized. That could make the belt slip when it was first engaged.
Hopefully we will learn more about exactly what happened after @BOLDTACO gets that...
I hope this fixed the problem @BOLDTACO. If you have a bad compressor then a lot of other people with this issue might have one too. Maybe time for a TSB?
You are going to love your truck - mine is awesome, with or without the HUD. Who knows why it is gone, maybe parts shortages, but at least you got some other cool things.
Yeah - that is how this should work on Tacomas too - when you are off road those nannies just get in the way.
Diving down through menus when you want to take your truck off road is dumb and then having to do it all again when you are back on road is a PITA. Toyota could address that in a...
Each automaker has come up with their own pedestrian warning sound and some are more obnoxious than others. The sound Toyota chose does make them sound like a Jetson mobile.
My neighbor's Tesla makes more noise than ICE cars, which continue to get quieter. From inside my truck I hardly notice...
I am guessing that if you disconnect the tailgate motor you will have warnings to deal with too. It would be nice if you could just turn it off and use it manually because sometimes waiting for it to do its thing seems kind of silly.
Yeah - good plan. It is a surprise to me that an Off Road is not really ready to go, you know, off road. It has put bilstein in a bad light, just like the JBL "premium" sound system has downgraded my opinion of JBL, which I used to really respect.
From my experience there isn't much that Safety Sense does like - starting with driving and using your truck. lol
I had to back past a vehicle blocking part of my driveway last week and it put some chevrons on the map and beeped because I was close, which made sense. But then three times since...
Cool, because that is the problem trim for Tacos. Now Toyota needs to issue a TSB for that so people can get the cast ones on Tacomas replaced. Hopefully all the 2025s have the stronger top hats, although I have not heard whether that is true or not.
That is a good question @BAQ717. I never looked into that but I hoped that you could buy them directly from Fox. Have you looked into that, or has Toyota bribed Fox to keep them exclusive?
So do we know if this is a change for 2025?
I don't like it personally, so I turned it off during the first week and it has never come back. I don't mind toggling it on and off with the steering wheel button on a long drive, but I would not like having it on all of the time.
Well Josh is not running the OEM tires that I have, so I guess that could be a factor and maybe also the tire pressure and cold temps.
But I agree with a lot of you that this is one great riding off road truck, and I would not want it any softer. In fact after I tried the softest setting I...
