Maybe I am spoiled, but I would have liked the memory package too. When someone else drives my vehicles it is nice to easily put it all back to where you had it.
A memory function could not adjust everything anyway, unless they add power steering wheel adjustment on all trims and power seat...
I had these on my Tundra and they were just like you describe. Pretty quiet and drove well but terrible on snow/ice. In 2wd my truck would sit on ice on level ground and just spin its tires. I could not get my truck to move without putting it in 4wd. On flat, level ground! There was no way I...
If your tailgate just slams open there is something wrong IMO. Check out other trucks at your dealership and if they open slowly maybe something is missing from your truck.
Yeah - this normal for Toyota so I never thought about it. That would mess me up when driving my wife's Infiniti though.
I remember it as turning it toward me makes it wipe more often and toward the windshield it wipes less often. The bars correspond to how long it is between wipes.
That is interesting and thanks for the posts @JustDSM. I have always followed minimun manufacturer octane ratings, but it is hard to argue with this solid data.
I understand the potential gains of running higher octane in a turbo engine, but the improvement that you show surprises me. Toyota...
@Baltimore Search Amazon for Novus Plastic Polish. They have a lot of different kits. I just had the two part one and it worked well. I successfully removed scratches from a lot of plastics with that kit.
I hadn't noticed that my glove box even had a lock. lol
I agree with @pmfh - pull out the key from the fob, lock the glove box and just give them the fob.
I thought all the trims without power tailgates had the damped lowering, but it does not sound like your SR5 does. If that is already on trims above the SR5 then it means a small market and explains the lack of options out there.
I have smoothed out scratches in plastic similar to the ones you have with a mild rubbing compound. I also have some plastic polish that I found on Amazon which does a good job of removing surface scratches.
I would probably try the plastic polish first and those don't look bad enough to...
A friend of mine had this happen too. I think the drain plug is protected in most 4th gens, but if not the convenience of a Fumoto valve is not worth the risk IMO.
Interesting idea. You should be able to get serious discounts on the in-range trucks. Your chances would be good because not all that many in an given range set will fail. And if they do Toyota will fix them.
An owner on this forum just got his back after under a week and had a loaner. You...
Mine fits good enough for me at the moment, but I know that some fit really poorly and it would be nice to know if there is a fix for keeping it in the center.
I think part of it is that we are expecting regular panel fit standards to apply to tailgates, which might not apply to a truck's...
This is the only engine failure I have heard of in a 4th gen, and that engine has been used in several Toyota/Lexus models for several years @bheiser1 . One failure out of 10s of thousands of vehicles is just amazingly bad luck.
It would be nice to hear an update @BronzoTaco - hopefully...
I measured my tailgate fit and it is better than I remembered and probably well within spec for a tailgate. I would still like to know if there is an adjustment procedure.
See attached image.
All true @WKTJR1. I asked myself those same questions because this problem exploded during the time from my allocation to delivery. By delivery day I was comfortable going back to trusting Toyota, but a vehicle in the VIN range would be a different matter.
So far my truck is perfect in every...
Good point. There have been failures in hybrids which didn't even start production until 5 months into production and most halos were made in the last couple of months.
But I do trust that Toyota is being straight with us about which trucks are at risk.
Yep, you would think sales people would know their products, but it is actually kind of rare in my experience.
The woman who sold me my 4h gen knew more about my truck than any other sales person I have dealt with at a Toyota dealership. She knew a lot about trucks and not just Tacomas. When...
I have only had my Taco for a couple of weeks, and I have not paid a lot of attention to this. But there is a slight difference in gap from tailgate side to side. I have a panel gap meanuring tool and I will check it soon. I think mine is consistent though and does not vary. At this point I have...
