With 265s on +32 wheels they do just fine. If you're going to mount 285 section tires on the factory wheels (closer to +55), then I'd imagine they'd do just as well too. Definitely doing a decent job of keeping thee rocks and dirt away.
Looks like Timbren has a set for the Tacoma now. Trying to consider whether I want to wait for an air setup, or just go with the Timbrens.

Mine is awfully close as well, but not rubbing - however, I've got the normal version and not the stance.
Given the marks, it looks like the rubbing is occurring due to the diamond plate finish while the cover is in the upright position? I haven't heard of anyone with the urethane or matte flat...
Figured with some people swapping their grills for the heritage version, interested to see if anyone is willing to part with their OE TRD Sport or O/R grill insert.
Please message me if you have one and are interested in selling it.

Alright, decided to just take a gamble.
I found through further research that the AK010 suffix was only for the matte black unpainted plastic part, and the part for my truck (chrome) was AK040.
So figuring the only other options were AK020 and AK030, if the numbers went up by trim, I kinda...
Appreciate these pics. The only pictures Victory had posted is with their unreleased front bumper, and I wanted to see how this plate looked with the OE lower bumper, given it's the only one on the market that I'm aware of that mounts to the front recovery points rather than the non-existent...
Was going to mention, the 4G studs are pretty short. Unfortunately, my aftermarket wheels couldn't take the ET lugs, so I had to go the extended stud route. But yes, run ET lugs if you can.
Sure - they are not necessary - but to me, they are an insurance policy. If you properly torque the lugs...
Personally I would run the correct hub centric rings (if wheel bore > hub bore), regardless if the wheels are supposedly "lug centric".
I'm fairly certain most Methods have 106 bores. So you'll need 106 to 95.1 rings for a 4G. There are plenty available on Amazon - the plastic ones are fine as...
Shocks probably don't have much to do with the payload, it's more on the springs & corresponding spring rate. If anything, I'm guessing spring rates are roughly the same, it's all the steel stuff (skids, bumper, etc) on the Trailhunter that kills the payload.
Payload drops by a tad over...
You ever figure out the part number? I guess where I'm confused is that the TRD OR has an additional crossmember that the OEM skid plates bolt up to. But the pictures you posted make the mounting location appear identical.
They make a full-size larger version as well.
Obviously the smaller ones won't catch as much debris, but IMHO they are more aesthetically appealing and better if you plan on off-roading or wheeling.
Nice. I was on the fence about doing silver lettering vs plain black and decided on the black as I felt like I won't regret the neutrality. Those look great, and like you said, help with wider offsets and/or tires. Looking forward to getting my set.
Would love to see how the splash guards look...
The ARK micro set is only $50, just released. Figured for that money I'll give them a whirl and see how they do.

Wonder what the weight difference is.
All these steel parts are attractive.... but you can already see how much damage they do to the payload on the Trailhunter.
Honestly, I've had both in previous cars & trucks and I don't mind the weatherbeaters. I typically found them more easy to clean as well.
I bought the OEM set as soon as I got the truck, but I'll scoop a pair of the weather beaters off Amazon and see how they are. Worst case if they suck, I'll...
My take is I don't want to pull it until I've got a skid solution in place. What's worse - staring at that nasty felt liner or the air dam? I do a decent amount of towing, and it's usually long distances, so I'll just keep it on for now.
Given only the off-road models have the additional...
On top of the weight, it's a much rougher ride in general on E-rated tires. Unless you need them for load requirements (which will never be a problem, unless you are overloading your Taco), I would stay away.
As far as wheeling performance, yeah, they're definitely more durable - however the...
