Definitely a pain to get these mounted but finally got all the parts and got around to it.
Initially when I put them on, I was not satisfied with the level of thread engagement on the lugs. Normally this can be solved with ET-style lug nuts, but unfortunately, they don't fit on most JDM wheels...
Does anyone know the correct part numbers for the top mirror cap covers on 4G Tacos equipped with turn signals on the side view mirrors?
There seems to be a bunch of different part numbers coming up as a direct hit on Toyota's part website. My guess is the variance may be for the models with or...
KYO-EI extended studs came in today. Plan on mounting them tomorrow, I'll post some pictures. But they look to be pretty nice quality. Hopefully the fitment is identical to the Tundra, I expect that it will be.
Not to say it wouldn't be possible in the aftermarket world, but yeah - as a factory option, I haven't seen any other manufacturer implement it as Tesla has. I just assumed it was due to a patent on it.
Nonetheless, the cameras that come with most cars, including Toyota, are quite low...
For me it was a combo of aesthetics and price.
Dealers around me were willing to go 1-2k off a sport and most of the ones in the area were loaded up with port accessories.
I ended up finding a limited with practically nothing on it from the port and worked out a 3K discount from MSRP. So I...
Hah... crossed my mind for a second but I'm not drilling out $3K wheels.
I also found another thread that had some info on a set of HR ET lugs with a 14.7 shank diameter (which would fit in the 15mm holes on my wheels). The problem is those are for 12x1.5, the 14x1.5 lugs from them are over...
I guess to answer my own question to a certain extent - further research shows the stock part number for the wheel studs as 90942-02083, which is the same one as the Tundra. Makes sense with the switch to M14-1.5 studs.
With that being said.... guess the same replacements for the Tundra should...
Anyone here running extended wheel studs?
I just received a set of wheels I ordered and am somewhat unsatisfied with the level of thread engagement I have with a set of conical lug nuts. Unfortunately, the wheels won't accept an ET lug nut, so I feel like the only option available is to swap...
The Icon springs are actually softer than stock, according to the folks over there. I'm also interested in stiffer rear springs / sumo / bags for towing purposes, and had asked them what the spring rate is, as they advertise them as "triple rate", so I guess they're progressive?
Anyways, they...
What MPG were you getting pulling that trailer at 75? I have a 4000# TT and I was getting around 15-16 going 65 or so.
75 probably a little too fast for my taste pulling a load like that, but curious nonetheless.
I did the non-stance as well. I was on the fence for the stance as I didn't want to glue the mounts on the roof... But once you get your roof rack in, post some pics as I'm curious how you will mount the anchors to it.
It's pretty lightweight so I figured if I know I need the whole bed I'll...
Thanks for posting these pics. I'm also between a 285/65R18 or 265/70R18 (same diameter) on some wheels I have coming in (18x8 +32). Probably at least another 2-3 weeks while I wait on my wheels that I purchased from Japan.
I was originally leaning towards the 285s but also don't want too much...
That's an interesting solution, but this seems like more of a workaround. I'll give it a go next time see how it works.
Nonetheless, I took a look through the manual and it even states the steering wheel needs to be firmly gripped. Just seems a lot different than other Toyota implementations of...
Not sure if this can really be classified as an issue - but anyone else here with lane trace assist cruise control notice you need to literally keep an iron grip on the steering wheel for it not to beep at you (basically the truck telling you to keep your hands on the wheel)?
I've driven...
You're right, that is the correct one for the full kit. However, I believe it doesn't come with the actual receiver antennas according to the manual... The part I listed above is just some assembly for the power cable options according to the manual - but it's odd as it shows as the full kit on...
Has anyone here messed around with the Wireless Camera System for the new Tacoma? Specifically models equipped with the digital rearview mirror.
There were some posts on the Tundra forum about this, but I haven't seen anyone mention it on the Taco side yet. Toyota part search shows the...
Think a lot of it is dependant on location. Here in Chicago, trucks are not a super popular option. Most buyers are getting them for commercial purposes only. Further out in the suburbs, they tend to sell a bit better. Regardless of the size of the pickup, our annual window sticker is like ~$230...
