  1. Things that should be standard no-brainer things Toyota didn't do for all Trim levels

Your truck is down-tuned because it doesn't have an oil cooler. Toyota leaves stuff out so they can lower the price.
  2. 2024 Tacoma 2.4L T24A-FTS Oil Type

My first oil change was done with Costco 0W-20, but I just ordered two boxes of 6-quart Havoline from Walmart ($28 x 2 with free shipping). I like the fact that it comes in six-quart volumes since most motor oils are sold by the quart or in 5-quart jugs, and our truck takes 5.9 quarts...
  3. Winter Storm Alert! 🌨️ Is Your Tacoma Ready for Rain or Snow?

Stop right there. I'm in the middle of Montana in a winter storm, and I'm good to go with my Lasfit floor mats. Snow problem.
  4. Can I change the default drive mode?

Can't do it. It'll stay in Normal or Eco.
  5. Clunk when engaging 4H

    Thanks! I re-read it and I think you're right.
  6. Clunk when engaging 4H

It's my understanding that you need to keep the speed below 60 when running in 4 HI??? Perhaps I' wrong?
  7. Clunk when engaging 4H

I think the manual says 60 MPH max in 4 H.
  8. Clunk when engaging 4H

It's because there's torque on the drive line when you do it.
  9. Impressive Power When Towing

I, too, am impressed with the towing abilities–especially compared to the old 6-banger. My trailer only weighs 1500 pounds and when I tried Tow/Haul mode, it felt like I had too much power. Go figure.
  10. Warranty and aftermarket dash cam.

I added my Garmin Mini 2 using the Dongar and can't imagine it causing a warranty issue. It works great. (But you do have to turn Carplay off in your phone to access videos wirelessly.) All that the adapter does is plug (inline) into the 12-volt mirror circuit and then reduce the power to 5...
  11. Thoughts on the 2024 Tacoma after 17,000km

Good grief. I traded in m 2016 Tacoma. This powertrain is heads above the old V6 with the six-speed tranny. 265 pounds of torque vs. 317. Not to mention, no more gear hunting. The torque at the wheels is just below the old NA V8 in the Tundra.
  12. Things that should be standard no-brainer things Toyota didn't do for all Trim levels

You should re-read my reply. This is what wrote: "As to most of the other things you have listed, what you are basically asking is, why doesn't Toyota just sell Tacomas with the Premium Package? It's about money. Some folks don't want to spend $50-55,000." I didn't suggest "he just wants...
  13. Anyone done this larger cup holder yet?

I printed off the TPU plugs that hold the claws in. I like the holders much better. https://makerworld.com/en/models/480267?from=search#profileId-391789
  14. Things that should be standard no-brainer things Toyota didn't do for all Trim levels

I've heard a few complainers, but my iPhone 15 connects flawlessly and never drops. This tells me the problem that some are having is on the phone side, not the truck. As to most of the other things you have listed, what you are basically asking is, why doesn't Toyota just sell Tacomas with...
  15. Thoughts on the 2024 Tacoma after 17,000km

Take it out of cruise control.
