Are you referring to the filler on each side? If so that's not affixed directly to the grille at all. It's only through bolted to the light bar mount screw. Then folded/bent with tension to hold position. Hasn't moved at all in 5k miles of driving so far.

You need a 4" pin. More specifically, you need a pin that has more than 3-3/4" between stop and pin/lock point. Mine came with a basic one in the glove box just as everyone else is saying. Every home depot around me carries them in stock as well, including silver and black locking versions.
