Heads-Up Display (HUD) on 2024 Tacoma - Like/Dislike?

Well, after finally receiving my truck I can confirm that Android Auto with Google Maps will NOT display turn-by-turn directions on the HUD. Very disappointing to say the least.

I understand that Toyota would prefer you pay a subscription to use their maps, but the fact that iPhones will display turn-by-turn directions via Apple Maps makes the lack of AA directions all the more infuriating.

I am writing to Corporate to see if there are plans to update this, as directions are displayed on the gauge cluster (MID) and should be able to be displayed on the HUD.

To add insult to injury, I could not get this form to work in Chrome or Safari. Had to use Firefox. WTH?

Anyone have information on what felt or down was added where to stop the HUD trim rattle? I notice it on and off around 60-70mph or down around 15-20mph. Very inconsistent.

I know there's a few Limited owners here already but this is the first photo I came across showing what it looks like on the 24 Tacoma. I posted all the pics of this celestial silver limited here.

Can any of the owners who have used it here comment on how they like it?

I have a 24 Limited and like the heads up display. My only gripe is that it drops frequently.I’ve gotten pretty good at bringing it back up to where I need it while driving.

Any one noticed that when in Full Display mode, and you first start up the truck, for a brief second you get the Tachometer to show up?

I cannot find the option to actually leave it there.....

The tach looks like it might be an option for the TRD Pro only, on my Limited that's never popped up and i've been thru the menus and never seen the option.

If it's there, the option to leave it on will be in there as well. Probably lots of digging through the options tho.

It shows for about 1.5 seconds on startup in my LTD. you just have to catch it. I wonder if it's the "basic/simple" display option (versus "full") within the HUD settings. I've not bothered to really play with each display setting.

Mine is a TRD Pro ... I scrolled through the HUD options, and tach. option is not listed.

I guess the option is on the software itself, just not enabled on the Tacoma's .. oh well

I don't have that option on my 2024 Pro either, but I do enjoy the HUD which is always there. Before I got my Pro I enjoyed using it on my 2023 RAV4 Prime. A very nice feature, but like already said, turn directions don't work with Android Auto, only the Toyota maps.

Could that be a setting? I get head up navigation directions when I use Apple Maps over CarPlay.

I have been through all the settings many times and have never seen any option to show the tach. I have also never seen it on my 2023 RAV4 Prime which has very similar options.
