  1. K&N cold air intake on 2024 SR5?

I also don't like this test because he misses a crucial piece of how an air filter works. First of all almost all airboxes pull UP into the filter. This way gravity can do some of the filtering for you, how convenient. Secondly, how well the filter seals is probably more important than the...
  2. K&N cold air intake on 2024 SR5?

I'd take this study used here on Nicoclub with a gigantic grain of salt. https://www.dieselplace.com/threads/the-k-amp-n-report.66536/ Ultimately, K&N filter will not filter as well as OEM paper. Aftermarket cheap paper will not filter or be as efficient as OEM paper or K&N. If you want...
  3. What did you do TO / WITH your 4th gen Tacoma today?! 👨‍🏭 🧰 📸

thanks man, I'm very happy with them. My guy hooked me up with some cool TRD lugnuts for em Waiting on 4 to come in because it was a set of 20, so we're currently double locked :cwl: lol
  4. What did you do TO / WITH your 4th gen Tacoma today?! 👨‍🏭 🧰 📸

Got some OEM steelies, ditched the TRD OR wheels. I like these way more, probably how the truck should have come from the factory. Definitely the end game wheel set. Current tires are the TRD OR BFGs 265/70/17s, I think I'll go 255/75/17 next for a 32.
  5. OBD Transmission Temp Devices?

Exactly what I've seen after offroading with my Scan Gauge, but even during a 10mi 5600ft climb in 4Lo, nothing overheated. Ambient was close to 90F, engine oil was around 230, trans fluid around 230 as well locked into 4Lo. I'm doing 5000 mile OCI, and I'll be changing the trans fluid every...
  6. So tired of the dealership buying experience

They also don't give a fk if you're buying an SR. They don't make money on those, the longer you take with the salesman the less time he has to sell TrailHunter and TRD Pros :cwl: When I walked in to SF Toyota and said I'm buying that SR over there in cash and I don't want to sit in or test...
  7. Toyota Dealer - No clue on alignment

That's why I had my favorite independent shop do my alignment. I knew the dealer would fk it up.
  8. Crooked bed

This is definitely not the taco lean, more just the bed sitting to the left of it's adjustment. This is how to fix it on the 3G. I doubt the 4G is much different. https://ridingtwoup.wordpress.com/2018/12/09/aligning-the-tacomas-bed-with-the-cab/ I'm not going to bother though, if the dealer...
  9. Toyota Dealer - No clue on alignment

Well you're probably going to have some on the trailhunter because you've got the factory lift. I wouldn't entirely doubt that Toyota specced in some positive camber for reduced steering effort with big tires, and maybe more stability offroad. Id just start with zero toe or like that guys above...
  10. Toyota Dealer - No clue on alignment

I mean I guess you can with the LCA cam bolt but you're not gonna destroy tires with 1 degrees positive camber. By adjusting the caster via the cam bolt you also adjust the camber, it's both at the same time not one or the other. Toe is what does tires in, not camber, as someone who has had...
  11. Toyota Dealer - No clue on alignment

Why would it not be good? I can't see a reason to have toe on the front end of a truck. My truck has zero toe front, drives straight as an arrow. Different suspension but still. The only thing the lift changes is the camber at rest (more travel = more camber).
  12. Crooked bed

Went and got the truck back today. Daly City Toyota didn't offer me a loaner despite the service writer saying "It might take 3 days or more". The next day (Thursday) they sent the truck to a body shop for measurements.. Didn't hear back from the service writer despite texting him, called...
  13. Toyota Dealer - No clue on alignment

Your guy did a good job with the front toe :like:
  14. Stolen 2024 Tacoma Houston TX

Bring back key ignition. My GFs mom got a 25 Corolla Cross L and it's got a key ignition. I liked that :like: Ironic that my WRX is probably less likely to be stolen than the truck simply because the key is chipped and has to be near a sensor in the ignition AND turn the barrel.
  15. Stolen 2024 Tacoma Houston TX

True, I am wrong on it being towed. Maybe they have a way of defeating the Toyota GPS when they get in with the cloned fob. Crazy that people will go to these lengths to steal an insured vehicle with a small parts market. If Toyota fixed their security loophole, I'm confident 4Gs would not be a...
  16. Crooked bed

It's all good, it seems like 4x4 SRs that aren't owned by some municipal local government are a rarity :cwl: (which is funny because the city here for some reason has 4x4 SR5s instead of the 2WD SRs they probably need, got upsold I guess). Yeah they said they're gonna measure everything. I...
  17. Crooked bed

I'm pretty sure the leaf spring trucks do not have panhard bars and no lift here. Truck is bone stock aside from CBI plates and the Diode Dynamic light pod setup on the bumper.
  18. Crooked bed

Yeah SF Toyota has been fine to me. I do understand there's probably a lot of variation in dealer quality though. I did call Daly City though to see if they can check it out today, and they said yes so we'll see. And yeah I mean it's a truck, but if they can straighten it out it would be nice...
  19. Stolen 2024 Tacoma Houston TX

I don't think it's useless. Looking at the documentation for the app it seems like vehicle last parked location /=/ vehicle GPS location Toyota connect can see. Last parked is quite literally that, last parked. But the truck can also send GPS signals when it's turned on and not just parked...
  20. Stolen 2024 Tacoma Houston TX

It would have to be driven to the new location, if it was towed, the vehicle location won't update.
