By chance is that the plant which has been experiencing trouble with a shortage of employees? There was a news flash recently in this regard, but cannot recall which facility.
Yes, the final truck assembly with be in either of two plants in Mexico, but I was curious about where the 2.4 Turbo/Hybrid combo will be made. Possibly at several locations, engine, transmission, then final assembled somewhere? I would love to have a Toyota built from scratch in Japan, but in...
Does anybody know where the 2.4 Turbo/hybrid combo will be manufactured? Just a guess, but that seems to be the holdup across many products with this engine, and even the Lexus GX550 hybrid.
It does puzzle me why such a limited offering of trim levels, essentially two, on the Land Cruiser, especially in view of the SIX offered with the GX 550. There must be a reason, such as not to initially pull from the well-selling 4Runner?
It may be possible to easily change the wheelbase (frame length) on the new architecture frame (TNGA?), as it has been pointed out how it is welded/overlapped in sections.

I hope no bigger! Leave bulk to the Tundra. Seems I read where Toyota has officially said they will be no larger. Just make the seating position better and more comfortable...
I think/hope they will offer both the 2.5 normally aspirated and the 2.4 Turbo, hopefully with/without hybrid. A 2.4 Turbo/hybrid would be my choice. All will have substantially better fuel economy than the current V6.
How do bad winters impact disc brakes worse than drum? Seriously, as one stumbling block to purchasing a Tacoma is the archaic rear drum brakes. Also, in my experience one can swap out disc brake pads a lot easier that self-adjusting drum brake shoes.
