I got my hands on the new Iceco VL45 Plus during its Kickstarter Campaign.

While Im doing a few videos on it, I wanted to share my first impressions on it.

What makes it different:
→ 3-way access system (left lid, right lid, side slide-out basket)
→ Vacuum Insulated Panels + 2.8" thick insulation for max efficiency
→ Magnetic-ready battery attachment for off-vehicle use
→ Secop compressor with 5-year warranty
→ Control via onboard panel, Bluetooth app, or Apple CarPlay 🔗

I've had a lower end ICECO JP40 in my truck for a couple of years now and absolutely love it! Zero problems even with all my bouncing around off-road with dust everywhere.

The key to any of the fridges is to make sure it has a quality compressor like the Secop. Everything else after that is just design and personal preference on features. The slide-out in this one seems like a gimmick but I can see how it might come in handy for certain use cases.

That’s cool. I bought a BougeRV w/ battery, 12v or 120 for $350. No fanciness, but it stays put and stays on until I turn it off. Cooler/Freezers have come a long way!

Yes they have. There are some great brands doing great things and its creating healthy competition.

This design isn't for everyone and Im not fully sure its for me. I do love the idea but its a little big. I love my APL35.
I will say though - my initial thoughts do lean towards liking it a lot. My use will tell and time will tell.

I have the APL20, which is probably too small for most. This travels along with my ARB50. Drinks in the ARB, food in the ICECO.

The one exception. I was going out with buddies to S. Utah the first week of June. One of the fellas tradionally was in charge of the campfire margaritas. Due to a remodel of his LC200, he didn't have a freezer for the ice. My APL20 to the rescue. 10# of crushed ice, plus ice cream cones for the crew.

The APL20 was flawless. I love the app.

I'm very tempted to get a APL20 for quick 1-2 trips and probably just always keep it in the back of our other car.
