Hi all, wondering if anyone has insight on running a 17x9 +18 setup on a TRD Pro. I want to keep the suspension geometry the same and trying to avoid a lift- has anyone put 17x9 +18s with 285/70r17s and know how bad the rubbing is or if any at all?

Specifically looking at Mickey Thompson Baja Boss A/T with the KMS GRS (unfortunately the GRS doesn’t have an 17x8.5 +25 option)

I don't have a Pro, but i have 17x8.5 +25mm with Mickey Thompson Baja's
Yeah it seems like that’s what a lot of people end up with. Just wondering if that extra 17x9 +18mm will put me over the edge. I also have rockblox mudflaps that I’d like to keep and avoid trimming.

Yeah for sure, good call. Well if it's any consolation I absolutely love the tires lol. Glad I went with them

So far, how are you liking you Mickeys? What have you put them through so far?
I’m tire hunting. My stock tires are looking and feeling trashed at less than 9K miles.
I love them, on road has been great. Only done some light trails and rocks but i'm extremely happy with them overall

Im running Toyo Open Country ATIII -- 315/70/17 +25 offset and don't rub at all.

Just have to remove the crash plate. I've only added a stiffer spring in the rear from AllDogs to help with weight.

After poring over more reviews this morning, I went back to the shop and ordered the Mickey Thompson Baja Boss A/T tires to fit my OEM wheels…pretty close at 265/65/18, but in an XL Load rating. Seems to be a slight cut above their Standard Load though it’s rated 116T like my OEMs. They weigh a couple lbs. more.

Why so small? Aren’t Trailhunter stock tires 265/70?

Yes, ordered the closest size I could find that will be a bit stronger tire without changing weight of the wheel/tire from ~73 lbs. to ~100 lbs. and likely degrading the truck ride and mpg/range.

Interesting. I went with the Nitto Terra grappler G3s. Not too heavy. You could have got a 275/70 in the terra grappler without much of a weight penalty at all. I think the smaller tire is going to really negatively affect the looks of your truck.

I don’t care that much about how the wheels and tires look. I’m an old woman. 👵🏼
That Nitto weighs 12.3 lbs. more than my stock tires. To me that is a substantial difference. My aim with this set is better in snow and close to stock weight.
