Hey all,
I've been experiencing this creaking or ticking noise over rough roads coming from the front driver's side, near the A-pillar. I've tried felt taping and weatherstripping all of the trim around the hood area, with no results.
Took it to Toyota and they said it was the composite skid plate making contact with the alignment bolts on the low control arms. They put some foam there, but I am still experiencing the noise (dealer closed for the day right after I picked up, couldn't go back).
I saw an older forum post about a guy putting some silicone lubricant on the rubber part of the firewall that makes contact with the hood. Gave that a shot, still didn't solve the issue. Also reduced the play in the plastic splash guards on both sides, so it's not that either.
Let me know what you guys think, it's starting to drive me a little nuts. :/
Both of these videos were taken in a safe location away from traffic.
