Yes, I went with the calculator and gallons used for 1st 15k miles or so when mileage truly sucked.
But did discover along the way, that when on trips the computer was damn near dead on every time.
Absolutely the most accurate I have ever had, so I have no problem sticking with it.
My averages were flat out traveling, as I didn't include stopping for fuel and the likes.
I wanted to know what it actually gets on the road while traveling.
And again I check the computer by a calculator on most all trips for @ least 1 tank and it is very close.
My 2018 not so much.....

All tank averages in my posts unless explicitly states otherwise.

Tank MPG
19.87
...
22.50
Truly awesome. Thanks for sharing.

It really does make one wonder, why there seem to be clearly two different camps (meet/exceed advertised MPG, those not even close).

Question: Those are fairly consistent, what's your average speed for most of those? Ballpark guess is fine.

Mine was bad enough that it was on a trade in plan for an F150, but somewhere well after 10k miles she did go from a tank average of 17 to average of right @ 22.
Which is about the same as my F150, but less than my son's 2025 v6 F150
I do however like the driving comfort, as well as all comforts of the Tacoma over the F150, no not a landslide, but yes better in my opinion, especially on long trips in comfort mode.

It took >2000 miles / first really long road trip to shake off really disappointing mileage. After that, generally speaking:
Tanks below 20.5 were towing a fully loaded 5x10 trailer + loaded bed (or the dealership burning up the tank during service)
Tanks 20.5 - 23 are around town mixed driving
Tanks 22.8 - 24.x are long distance road trips with more than 180 miles nonstop ( no engine cutoff).
Theres a tank in there just shy of 22 that was fully loaded bed and hitch basket through the Appalachian mountains.

Daily driving is mid Atlantic where nothing is flat. About 30-45mph and half 60-70mph. I rarely in a parking lot (on the beltway is aanother story).

I do not use eco at all. Comfort or Normal or Tow/Haul.
