Adding oem inverter?

When I bought my Tacoma a few months ago the dealership had 50+ on the lot but only three 2025s they could sell, all the 2024s were waiting recall repairs. Sadly none of the 2025s had the inverter in the bed which was my most desired feature. Adding the inverter/bed outlet has very little information on the internet, but there is a post where a man identified the inverter wiring in his trucks wire harness without the feature. However, he only posted that one time and didn’t update what he did after that. I have since confirmed that my truck also has the terminated connects for the inverter. I can get the inverter for pretty cheap online and I know Id need the button on the dash and outlet in the bed but I don’t know how to find the other parts of the harnesses that run to those parts. Is this a pipe dream, atleast right now?

Keep in mind, there are a couple limitations with the factory inverter. First, it is modified sine wave, meaning that the output of the inverter is more square shaped, and not great for motors or some electronic equipment that doesnt have its own power supply. Second, it is 400 watts while engine is running, and reduces down to 100 watts while driving.

You can solve both disadvantages with a $40 pure sine wave 300 watt Bestek inverter from Amazon. This plugs into 12v outlet, and provides good clean power, that doesnt limit while driving. Although its slightly less output at 300 watts, here is the one I like https://a.co/d/2jczvdM

This is the other option I’m looking at but I’d like to run things from the bed, do just run a cord to the bed or just use whatever you’re plugging in in the cab?

My taco has a 12v outlet in the center console and one in the bed. Double check if yours does, mine is on the drivers side, under a plastic door cover by the tailgate, along with two USB C outlets and fuse.
