Anybody living in Wyoming?, I’m very interested in this beautiful state, I’m curious if there’s anybody enjoying life in the Rodeo state, Been in my sights for awhile, and wife and I are thinking seriously about possibly moving there from east coast, Wife is close to retirement and looking for our final location to enjoy the rest of our time.
Thank you
David

I’m originally from there, but live in Colorado now. Some parts of Wyoming are almost completely unaffordable now. The Sheridan and Buffalo areas are nice and still kind of affordable. Also, depending on where you are coming from, the politics may not suit you, but most folks keep to themselves up there.

Thank you, we will be coming from ny state, getting very heavy in taxes, laws , and less rights as an American , We aren’t from the woke or liberal mindset, I’m a veteran and believe in right to bear arms, The political landscape from what I’ve been reading is more suited to our likes.
The outdoor recreation seems plenty, Fly fishing is a passion for me, cold winters aren’t a bother honestly, thanks for responding….The cowboy culture is great for us ,and seems to be a lifestyle out there

As long as you can handle windy winters, you’ll be just fine. I would say go spend some time in an area you’re thinking about moving to, sometimes (depending on the area) the locals aren’t overly welcoming to out-of-staters. Lots of remote workers moved to the state during the pandemic and it kind of jaded folks.

Great advice, thank you. The area of Buffalo has our interests, that would be on left side of state?, more hilly like, trees and less prairie like ?..

Buffalo is on the eastern slope in the Bighorn mountains. Very beautiful area with lots access to fishing, hiking, biking, etc. Very cool art and food scene as well.

My family is originally from the Buffalo / Sheridan area, so I’m a bit biased to the place.
