I think I have this figured out (but want clarification). My truck came with the 3 AUX switches and the 3 harnesses. I only want to run 1 wire to the rear but my connector has 2 wires going to the back (black & green). I should be able to intercept one of those at the engine compartment so I'm only running one to the rear, correct?

I have opened up that harness and cut the black wire then spliced it to a 12v power source to use it for lights and power in my canopy. Then I plugged the that pigtail into both connectors. This gives me one aux switch, a 12v constant wired to the back. Also one more aux switch to use in the engine compartment.

That is your pigtail that connects the back wiring to connect to your auxiliary switch

Right, but my question was " I should be able to intercept one of those at the engine compartment so I'm only running one to the rear, correct? "

And what are you wiring?
Ditch lights (including DRL), Raptor Lights in grill, and 1 to the rear for future flood lights. I think (gotta check wattage) but I'm hoping to run DRL and Raptor lights together. Not because I want to but I'll run out of options. (4 items - 3 Aux switches)

That sound like a plan I’d just check your watts to amps on the breakers and make sure your under and you could run them together. Also on your original post it seems a little unclear what you want clarification on. So it’s kinda hard to make a good assessment of what you want.

here's the locations you can tap off of, and what amperage each allows for:

2024 Tacoma AUX Switches / Wiring pigtail hookup points

which harness you use depends on which "jump point" you're connecting to. It was confusing for me at first, wiring up my winch to AUX3 as a power cutout solenoid, but each wire in the pigtail is a different switch. So one pigtail can manage all three AUX switches.

2024 Tacoma AUX Switches / Wiring 1749268267689-pt

so you attach common and black for aux 1, common and green for aux2, common and 'other white' for aux 3.

You're asking about running one to rear, but you shouldn't have to. just use the rear access point, and don't do "green up front AND green in the rear", if that makes sense? Or hell, maybe you COULD do that and have two on green, as you mentioned.

Sorry, kinda hard to explain but I'll try again. (even though I may end up going in a different direction) My original question: The pigtail that sends 2 hot wires to the rear - can I cut (& intercept) one of those at the engine compartment and utilize it up front? I only want one hot wire going to the rear. (In my original picture it shows the plug with black and green wires - If I left that alone, it would send 2 hot wires to the rear - I want to save one for the front and only send one to the rear)

Why not use the auxiliary in the back? I mean yes you can run the wires all the way from the engine. You can just run one 12v to the back. There should be 4 wires total a ground and 3) 12v positive of differing amps.

I am going to use one of the AUX wires for the back. I just didn't want 2 in the back so I cut one and kept it up front and now only one will be utilizing the factory AUX switch/wiring at the rear.
