Was wondering if anyone has installed the Auxbeam 8 Gang Switch Panel on their truck and, if so, what fuse box you tapped into and what fuse specifically? I spent a few hours trying to figure out how to get the add-a-fuse that came with the Auxbeam connected into the driver-side fuse box. I watched a few YouTube videos, but none specifically showed how to properly connect into the fuse box.

I found one video that said to use fuse F50 (INJ / Fuel Injectors). However, when I used that as my tap point for the Auxbeam, my engine shut off while the truck was running (thankfully it was parked).

From what I’ve read, a lot of people are instead using an ACC-style fuse like ECU-ACC, USB, or an ignition/accessory fuse rather than anything tied to the injectors or critical engine systems. Also seems like the add-a-fuse that comes with the auxbeam kit isnt able to fit the mini fuse from the truck.

If anyone has a fix for this that would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

If you don’t want constant power, I recommend running it into your interior fuse box and using a fuse that cuts off when your car is turned off.

I used my USB 1 fuse with a dual-fuse tap. When I tried using only one fuse, I didn’t get enough power to the Auxbeam.

Hope this helps.

I appreciate the quick response, I read through your post and it was very helpful however, I'm still confused as to how you got the fuse from the truck fuse box to fit in the provided add a fuse adapter.

Also - any idea of the wire size for the trigger wire from auxbeam. It's not long enough to run from the drivers side into the cab or to the passenger side fuse box.

Thanks

What I did was add a butt connector to the provided ACC wire and extend the cable that connects to the Auxbeam. It should be the red wire. I believe the wire is about 16 or 18 gauge. I got the wire from AutoZone or Advance Auto, but either size should work.

I added a circle to the area I was talking about in the picture of the Auxbeam wire.

Then I ran that cable through the firewall using a coat hanger and routed it to the passenger-side fuse box. I attached it to a fuse tap and used two taps in the provided fuse tap. I used USB 1, which controls the front USB ports.

I would choose a fuse that doesn’t control anything important. You don’t want to use anything that controls the ECU or any major vehicle functions.

Let me know if that helps.

Best of luck!
