I've got about 10k miles on my truck now and am going to take her in for the 10k service. Before asking the dealer this question, I thought I get some opinions from the experts. I've switched back and forth between Sport and Comfort over the past year and I can't really tell the difference between these modes. This would be under highway conditions and crappy city streets. I've tried to detect the difference in feeling bumps and ruts, bouncing through sways, and tightness of steering while cornering. I have yet to notice any difference. The few times I have driven rental cars with similar features, the difference was pretty easy to feel. I'm not expecting the steering to tighten up that much [it's a truck] but figure I should be able to notice something. As for the smoothness of the ride, I can't tell any difference. Can you tell a difference on yours? If I do report it to the dealer, is there a way to test this or is it purely subjective?

yes. When I'm driving on a reasonably bumpy / poorly maintained road or section of road I can feel distinct differences between sport, normal, and comfort. Less difference felt between sport and normal in the suspension (more in the transmission and steering). But in/out of comfort I feel a definitive softening of minor ruts and bumps. Best way to see if you sense it (if you haven't done this already) is find a quiet but variable area of road and while driving along switch the setting on the fly in and out, spending ~20-30 seconds minimum in each.

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I have tried switching back and forth.

I feel like normal and sport "ride like a truck", whereas switching over to comfort I get 2/3 of the way closer to the feel of a unibody SUV such as the Highlander.

Now that the weather is nicer, I'm stating to experiment more to see if I can feel the differences.

I don't feel much of a difference in mine, but I typically have it in Comfort most of the time. If I dod switch to another Mode, it's usually to Eco. Maybe there's not much of a difference between those two Modes.

Personally I notice a pretty significant difference, particularly in comfort mode. The difference is noticable over small bumps, but I find it most noticable over larger undulations at high speed. The comfort setting seems noticably underdamped in those situations, and can be quite floaty, almost to the point of causing car sickness.
