I really like the Trail Hunter Bed Scene lighting, but as many have noted in prior threads Toyota appears lacking parts for mods and the aftermarket is not there yet.
I do a lot of surf fishing (drive-on beaches) and some times at night & seeing around the bed would be helpful.

I am considering trying something on my own but have a few questions.

I want them to work on same switch as the existing bed lights, or find a constant electrical feed and possibly add a on/off switch at the tailgate.
I do not want to use the existing rear wiring harness (other plans for that).

1. Anyone have a wiring schematic for the rear bed lights or the rear of the truck?
Would like to find a tap point for the...
- Bed light switch
- Constant feed in the rear of the truck (for use if I add a on/off switch)

2. Existing side wall bed lights (internal to the bed)
Anyone know how to remove these lights without breaking them?

I don't have much info to give, but do you plan on using the OEM sceen lighting parts? Or are you going get your own lighting?

I've been considering doing the same thing for camping and such, but I haven't decided on what lights to go with and where to mount them.

I’m really interested to see if there are factory wiring connections for the bed scene lighting. Anyone find them yet?

I am looking at perhaps modifying my existing bed rails if I can find LED lights that would look similar, but the issue would be how to direct the light downward. The current bed rail has an angle such that the LED beams would project slightly upward or straight out, not down like i would prefer.
Then you also have the wheel well that projects out blocking direct light from getting to the ground close to the truck.

I am also looking at possibly LEDs in the back of the wheel well projecting outward thru the clearance on both sides of the rear wheels, but they would likely not survive rocks/debris coming off the tires.

I may just wait till the Trail hunter style are available.

I would like to find out if the bed lights on the side of the bed on the interior, are removal to tap there for power. I tried prying around them, but I am afraid to force and damage them.

Good points on all that you mentioned. Please do update us if you end up getting some lights install, however you do it!

I also considered waiting on the OEM Scene lighting, but I expect them to be fairly expensive considering I would need new bed rails, lights, and wiring harnesses.

I have also considered rock lights and mounting them either in the wheel wells like you mentioned, or just underneath around the truck.

Amazon has some cheap ones: https://a.co/d/0KaBAhg

Baja Designs makes 180degree rock lights: https://www.bajadesigns.com/products/led-rock-light/

Interestingly, I just found the below photos. And although they look bright, I didn't realize how many shadows they cast. Perhaps a DIY solution may yeild better results
