Best recovery gear to have at the beach?

I'm still waiting on my TRD Pro to be delivered (Hopefully this week) and I plan on going to the beach a lot with it and was curious what everyone though would be the best equipment to have with me in the case I get stuck or to help someone else out of a jam. My initial plan was to carry some soft shackles and a tow strap or kinetic recovery strap. Just thought that at a minimum those would be good to have on hand. Let me know what your thoughts are.

I plan on always taking a shovel with me when going to the beach and I already have a portable compressor/tire gauge I plan on taking with plans on making something more permanent with an ARB compressor mounted on the truck. Wasn't sure whether recovery boards were overkill or not.

Your best bet for yourself is to have good sand tires aired down and not to load your truck up with too much weight.

For helping others a kinetic rope is probably the most versatile. Keep in mind you're not licensed or insured so you are putting yourself at risk every time you help someone. So you want to do the minimum possible to get them out. Use it more as a tow strap unless the kinetic part is truly needed and use your judgment on who you help.

The next step is a winch. That will help break suction if they're stuck in wet sand without all the drama of a kinetic rope. It also helps if you can't get a good run up for the rope.

Also, know your tools and how to use them. Never connect kinetic rope to a hitch ball or any kind of trailer hitch.

My Limited lives in the NC Outer Banks and all that I carry with me is an air compressor to air back up, a long rope, front and back recovery points, soft shackles and traction boards.

My 2019 4Runner TRD Off Road is an overlanding beast and when driving on the beach I have never had to deploy the winch or traction boards. I drop psi to 18 and float over the “sugar sand” we have down here.

Kinetic recovery rope 100%, budget amazon air compressor until you get that ARB setup, traction boards are great but pricey. Soft shackles are great idea as well. The pro already has nice recovery points but you might want to consider a Factor 55 2in Hitch Receiver for other vehicles that don't. They go great with their soft shackles.

It's a bit pricey, but it's a brilliant recovery option. Especially if you like to wheel alone.
