Best sequence for connecting and disconnecting trailer to avoid detection issues.

Hello All,

I will be moving in 2 months and using a U-Haul trailer to do so. I want to make sure I don't have issues with the system that I have seem to see a few have. What is the best way to go about connecting and disconnecting the U-Haul trailer. I have had many vehicles and towed many things, but just concerned about the issues with the detection feature and having the annoying messages pop up on my dash.

I've read of folks having issues, but have towed numerous times without any problems.

1. Turn the truck off and hitch up.
2. Tow
3. Turn the truck off and unhitch
4. After driving forty yards or so, it'll ask about the trailer and you select YES.

That's it.

Early ones had a few software issue. June 24 build date zero problems, sometimes I hook up while’s it’s running sometimes I don’t, either way I’ve had no problems. Like Sagebrush said after you drive 30-40feet it’ll ask.
