I really like my 2024 Tacoma, except for continual Bluetooth connection problems. Virtually every time I get in the truck, I have to connect the phone. I have reset my account, deleted my phone and re-linked it, made sure the android version on the phone is current - tried every trick in the book, and it will not consistently connect. Another thing that is curious, if my wife gets in the truck with me, the system defaults to her Iphone over my android. It is frustrating - my 2013 Tacoma connected 99.9% of the time with no issues (with the same phone I have now). Anyone else experience this, or have any suggestions?

99.9% I have zero issues and it connects right away over wireless and AA starts loading up. Twice now I've had a rare glitch where everything looks like it's working but the audio from call will not come through over the speakers. So far the only way I have found to reset this condition is a total shutdown of the truck (and opening door to kill ACC) for a few minutes. Got a suggestion from someone else to force press the volume button to reboot the head unit but haven't had it happen again yet to try that approach.

In our other car (different brand) we get regular connectivity issues any time the phone installs a security update or AA update. But we've learned that a reboot of the phone itself before trying to reconnect usually resolves it.

You guys are lucky. My 2024 Limited Taco drops AA ALL of the time! My phone is a Samsung Galaxy S24+ and I'm using Android Auto. Thirty minutes behind the wheel will get me a "lost connection" message about five times, 2/3 of the time it'll reconnect in a few seconds but very often I have to go to settings and reconnect the Bluetooth connection to the phone. I'm deleted and reloaded the app without any improvement. I'm open to any suggestions for solving my situation.

Sounds like a Samsung Galaxy issue, not a Toyota or AA issue directly.

We solved 90% of the drop out problems on the other car by switching the USB cables to these.

It would be an inexpensive test to plug one in the side of the screen and try a wired connection to see if you get the stability you need.

Also pay attention to of it's dropping at the exact same place on your drives. Someone else posted here or in TW and they even up finding out that a building they passed on their drive created frequency interference causing the drop.

Mine has done this a couple times. Super annoying. But it's been clean the last several months. I'm convinced the problem is with the phones bluetooth and interference between other apps that use bluetooth.

One thing I noticed is that I would try to turn off BT on the phone, but it would turn back on immediately. I went into the settings and flipped some of them that looked like might be causing this. Sorry, don't know which ones.
