Hi folks,

Not sure if this is the ideal spot but it's brakes, so here it is. Has anyone else been frustrated by how the brake boost kicks in seemingly randomly, and when you're normal braking the pedal travel is significant before it engages?

It's really frustrating. My TH is only 4 months old and since day 1 the brake pedal has tons of travel before it engages, but, if you tap it quickly or hard, or for no reason at all, the brake boost kicks in and gives you instant pedal response. I LOVE THIS. When it does kick in, the brakes are so much easier to control and modulate and predict, and is significantly safer and allows better response time and softer modulation.

For those that have the diag tools, I'm considering one to get rid of the stupid seat belt charm becaue I can't even drive around my own property without it driving me insane. But, has anyone looked into if you can set the brake boost, or how much regenerative braking can be adjusted? Does anyone have any recommendations for diag tool for this task?

Thanks!

I'll be surprised to hear if the boost or regenerative braking is adjustable. That's software. You can get rid of the seat belt noise with the Carista app and their $30 OBD reader.

But no, I'm not frustrated with the braking.

He’s talking about the hydraulic booster that the hybrids have. They feel a lot different than the vacuum brakes on the gas trucks.

It’s basically the same system the 2nd and 3rd gen off-road oriented models have, and I’ve never seen anyone be able to change the brake boost on those systems.
