I'm a yuuge advocate of building out minimal/lightweight & for the season/overall mission goals/trip...I did go heavy ass kitchen gear slide last year, built-out a custom slide for myself and ultimately realized I didn't need it with how I camp. Sold that, and now I'm down to a really slick & lightweight sleeper berth bench/shelf + a complete bed rug kit on GFC walls, etc. Loving it. If you go boxes and cabinetry go with WISA hex ultralight marine grade (what my 202 extrusion bench top is made o)f. But otherwise I think building out all these chackis is for the purpose of storing chackis. If that makes you happy good on you. But the drive & the minimal singular experience of truck camping is where the love and memories are. The two things I can't live without in the summer are a fridge and the RinseKit. Never need to stop in town when you have those - unless of course you need more food & water....

Damn dude SO NICE !

Thank you for the tips. Rinse kit is now on the list.
I gotta figure out the heat thing too. If I don't have an rv site then we just do mr buddy till bed time. I like the Truma heater but like with everything overlanding... đź’°đź’°đź’°
For the build out I don't need to store a bunch of shit, I really just want an interior bench to have meals because it rains a lot up here. If it doubles as storage then that's even better, but I'm honestly fine setting up the camp kitchen under the awning with a collapsible table, so don't even need a slide out kitchen.

@trailhunger haha! Ive had your setup saved on my phone. back when you were selling it! loved the configuration. I had grand ideas at first. now I'm really zeroing in on simplicity. especially since I only have a GFC topper.

Key stuff on the list... Fridge (ICEco or Dometic) and a Rinse Kit. That new ROAM tank looks awesome

Im heading up to overland expo in Oregon end of the month. Maybe I can get a deal there. If not, I'll use that beautiful no sales tax.
Awesome that you’re going to the PNW Expo. We went to the one in Flagstaff and ordered a Roam box (Rugged Case 105L) at a discount…and they shipped at no shipping charge which avoided the usual $100. Very nice. Same thing with DeepSleep mattresses. We didn’t have to schlep large items back to the truck during the Expo.

That Roam water tank looks much nicer than our 4gal Waterport. If you pass on the Roam tank, the Waterport is easy to pressurize with a small compressor, but it makes for a brief shower. We like it mainly for extra/emergency water, and it’s hitch mounted. It can go on back of our trailer or our truck if not towing, or just strapped in the bed. Some roof rack mount too but it’s not sleek and slick like that Roam setup with the boards on top.

Hope you have the best time at the Expo. App is pretty good!
