I’ve been having this issue whenever I remote start my truck. After starting it remotely and getting in. My phone is pared but the CarPlay doesn’t kick in. At first I thought I just need to wait a little for the phone to be recognized completely. Every time I do this I see the phone does get recognized and pairs up. I end up having to go into the settings, to my phone and hit the toggle for CarPlay (there is the choice for MUsic, media, and CarPlay). It’s always on media….If I get in and start it normally without using remote start, It all works and pairs as it is supposed to. I’m curious if anyone else has this issue as well.

this must be a software issue with the truct radio, as I have the same issue with Android Auto.
every time I remote start I need to go into settings and enable it.

Yeah it’s kinda annoying but not the end of the world. Hopefully I can get it to operate properly.

Well known problem when you search. Software issue, issue is the head unit only looks for your phone at startup, if the phone isn’t there, then there’s nothing to connect to and then it doesn’t look for it again until next key cycle. a serious oversight yet a simple software fix likely to never happen.

You can hold the truck volume button in till it reboots and it will then detect your phone.

Definitely don’t wanna turn off the truck and restart it. That’ll get aggravating after a while. It detects my phone. It doesn’t just doesn’t automatically kick on CarPlay. I have to go into my phone settings, click on my detected iPhone, then lastly choose if I only want it to play music, media, or CarPlay. It only happens when I remote start it.
