I have an SR with upgrade and was wondering if the tailgate locks. I want a tonneau cover and need a locking tailgate for security. Any insight?

I have an SR as well and I have been looking for a the part number for the electronic actuator for the tailgate. I want the soft open hinge for the tailgate as well. I talked to the parts dept at my local dealership and they told me that unless I have the right VIN number so they can lookup the parts then I can't buy the part.
Just wanted to let you know that you can order items on the Toyota parts site that might not correspond to your VIN # ---- at least that was my experience. If something didn't come with or was unavailable for the trim you got, it will not state that it fits, but many things will. When it was on sale, I wanted to get the hood insulation, but kept being told it wasn't for my truck. Since the correct part # had been posted on this forum and I knew my hood was the same as those on the higher trims, I rolled the dice and got it and the fit was perfect. I DK if your project here will work out in the same way, but if all the tailgates are the same part it might---- perhaps someone here more knowledgeable could answer that for you. Just wanted to pass along that you can buy parts not associated w/ your VIN.

You can usually order parts from the dealer if you have the part number. Many things will fit our trims. I also looked at other trims at the dealer and wrote down the vin # so if I think it will fit and I don't have the part number I can give them a vin #.
Did you ever figure out the part # for the electronic actuator? There's another post in this same site for the soft open hinge (I did that one and it's great, I can point you to it if you haven't seen it), but I've been searching for months for the lock actuator and so far nothing.
Looks like the 2025's come with that included so I fear there will be limited interest in this from most people.... on the other hand it's probably pre-wired and easy to do (of course, I have no idea what parts to buy).

Now that I read the thread again I think the OP and I may be looking for different things... I think what I'm looking for is this https://parts.olathetoyota.com/oem-parts/toyota-actuator-assembly-69150ak010 (all I want is power lock). But I wouldn't know where to plug this in, if I need to route a harness, which harness would it be, etc. My hope is that one of the "free" connectors around the tailgate is already prewired and it's all plug and play ... Even if it isn't I'm fine spending some time actually routing and connecting a harness (if I knew what it was). Wouldn't want to have to splice, though ... Always afraid I might damage something.
