I got a steal of a deal ($900) on a legit set of 18" Toyota BBS forged wheels that come off TRD Pro Sequoias and Tundras. Not my photo, just posting as reference.

I drive a 2024 Tacoma Hybrid TRD Off-Road on stock suspension, no lift. Before I order tires I just want to sanity-check the math.

The stock wheels are 18x7.5 +55 and the BBS wheels are 18x8 +47.5. Going from 7.5 to 8 inches adds half an inch of total width, which means a quarter inch on the outside of the wheel, or about 6.35 mm. The offset change from +55 to +47.5 moves the whole wheel outward another 7.5 mm. So the outer edge of the wheel ends up about 13.85 mm farther out than stock. Right?

I’m planning to run 285/65R18 Falken Wildpeak AT4W. Compared to my current 265s that adds about 10 mm of sidewall per side, so the outer tire edge ends up roughly 23–24 mm (0.9-0.94 inches) farther out than my current setup.

Diameter-wise 285/65 and 265/70 are basically the same, so height isn’t really changing, just width and stance.

Given the BBS wheels have less positive offset and a little more width, I should still be in good shape on UCAs and coilovers, and I don't think anything would rub, right? Would love confirmation here. Anyone have experience?

Just want to make sure I’m not missing anything before I pull the trigger.

Hello, I’m doing the same to my 2025 TRD Off Road Hybrid Premium. A +47 offset is not going to be that much different than your +55 stock rims. I would go with a +25 if you want the stance to change with a little bit of “poke”. Good luck!

I think I've seen people do this ? Check the aftermarket wheel/tire thread! Lots of good examples there. I moved to +20mm TH wheels with 275/70r18 and have no issues, but not sure 285 would clear without removing the crash pads.

I have those wheels and 265/70/18 KO3’s on my OR. They are perfect. You could go up a size easily.

I’m running the Tundra 18” BBS wheels with 275/70-18. They sit right at the edge of the fender well and look great.

Ah yea! Seen that one. Love that set up dude. Great rig!
I couldn't get over the hum of my Yokohamas so DT is actually replacing them with those G3s! I dropped back down to 265/70R18, but damn, maybe should've stuck with the 275. I wasn't sure if they would actually fit - couldn't find anyone with the G3 that could tell me if diameter actually matched the spec sheet. My yokos are 32.75" from pavement to top of the tire and it's dang close on full lock with no flex.

I just did the replacements of G3s (SL) 275/70r18s on my stock OR wheels. Been great so far. No rubbing or issues.

Reason I ask about 285/65/18 is because the moment I go to 275/70/18 in the falken wildpeak at4w, I move from an SL to an E load, which I’m trying to avoid.

What tire brand you running?

Mate, your truck was part of the inspo and why I went on the hunt for the wheels in the first place! Love how your set up looks. Spent a lot of time in your threads.

You went E load with the 265/70 if I recall correct? You think I could go 285/65 (and keep it SL) no issues?

FYI you can stay in the SL in 275/70R18 in the Nitto G3 @ 46lbs or Yokohama Geolandar @ 43lbs if you're not stuck on the Falken! I mentioned above, but found the yokos loud between 30-45 which is where I do most my driving.
