Frame scratches near bumper supports

Hi,
I was wondering if anyone else out there had similar scratches on the frame of there 4th gen Tacomas. I didn't notice them when i bought my 25 until i has some issues with the alignment. I brought it up and Toyota says these are completely normal.

just Shoot it with some Tremclad or Undercoat, such a simple problem to fix if it bothers you. Why annoy your dealer over it? It’s a truck, not a show truck.

Checking mine just now, I didn't notice any. The frame and many of the supports have been put together as one unit, the entire assembly then powder coated. Tons of yellow chalk marks.

They may be tool marks left from the factory. But I suspect they are more from shipping and transport companies, tying-down and securing the truck. In rail cars, it often looks like the vehicles are simply driven in and parked. Depending on where placed in a hauling trailer, some are tied down, at the wheels or elsewhere.

Per the Guide, Toyota warranties the alignment for the first 12 months of Ownership. Many manufacturers offer a freebie, knowing the setup is not always correct when leaving the factory. You could be out of that warranty by now.

I wouldn't be concerned if the alignment was off. If getting corrected, the dealer should give you a before and after printout, something you can keep as a baseline. Once a quarter, I'll check my tread wear with a tread depth gauge. TPMS is cool, but I check my tires with a manual gauge once a month.

The marks seem superficial. I wouldn't be concerned of those either.

My last truck was 18 YO, lived in an environment similar to yours. There was a light patina of surface rust across the frame and supports. Much of the original paint or powder coating had been lost or worn away. Nothing I was concerned about. Nothing remotely approaching structural integrity.

It may not be a show truck but it is a brand new one( 4months and 3000Miles). I probably would of just chalked it up to transport or tool marks had i not had the issues with the alignments that drew my attention to them.
Good luck getting a dealer to honor that alignment, i tried to and that' how i ended up here. I went in because the passenger side tire was scrubbing off the outside edge pretty bad and ended up with the worst alignment Ive ever had twice before i noticed the marks. The dealer also never provided a before and after for the first alignment so that was kinda sketchy. I ended up going to two other dealers who also attempted an alignment and then had to argue about what i wanted for specs with the last one just to get a truck that doesn't want to pull me into the woods(still pulls). I guess time will tell on the tires but so far 400 miles the wear pattern looks better.
