I was searching around and couldn’t find much on lockers or gearing. I did see someone using the Eaton aftermarket 3rd gen e-locker for the front, but was curious if anyone has found a setup for either front and rear e-lockers or front and rear air lockers that would work with the SR5?

With front lock on IFS systems one has to be real careful when to lock and unlock due to CV joint/axle failure. Friend has a previous gen (2020??) 4 Runner with factory rear and added front lock and makes a huge difference. Eaton should be ok for front and rear if Toyo are not available. Gearing? There is a shop here in Calgary that can do gearing for them as they use the manual gears at 4.30 bought from Toyota.

I just had arb air lockers front and rear installed. Also regeared to 4.88. Happy with the results. Gears were revolution gear.
awesome! about how much did the setup cost and also what tire size are you running? What’s the rpm at around 65mph and any other positive or negatives for daily driving and offroad? lol sorry for the million questions.

5700 everything included. He did say the bearings in the rear were different than he was expecting and the front arb locker needed an adapter that he had to order from arb despite ordering the locker for the 4th gen.

I have ko2 285 75 17 E rated tires an method wheels. Power is definitely better after the regear. I'll let you know the rpms tomorrow.

I agree with being careful with the front lockers but they were awesome in the snow when needed.

True 65 mph rpm 2100. Gauge is 5% off with larger tires. 65 mph on gauge rpm 2300.

Just out of curiosity, how could the engine rpm be off? It’s just the speed that should be different. Rpm are measured at the motor, no? How could someone with a manual see rpm drop at speed in the middle of a shift or coasting on the clutch if the rpm’s were measured by wheel speed?

i do agree speed would be off because fewer rotations per mile due to diameter increase…
