Gen4 Tacoma Model Codes

Ok fellas. Let's decode Toyota's model codes for our trucks. You can find your model code on the B-pillar VIN tag. Here is the list I found.

To get this started, I have a manual, TRD-OR, 4-door. TZNA45L-PRFSZA, which appears to be the only model code for MT trucks.

Assuming Toyota has been consistent, the 40-L trucks will be 2WD 2-door, and 41-L might be 2WD 4-door. The 45/46/47-L should be 4WD.

Information needed will be trim (SR, SR5, TRD-OR, Limit, Pro, TH), 2WD or 4WD, 2-door or 4-door, hybrid. Also, from what I can tell, I'm not sure it includes a TH code (TZNH47L?), but I'm not sure.

The Owners Manual lists multiple model numbers and their tow limits. While it doesn't give the detail you're looking for, the information in the tables might give you something worthwhile.

IDK if it'd be faster to rough out what you want to list, then take a trip to the local Toyo Parts Department. They might have a cheat sheet or simply know this information from their daily grind.
