Mine did this for the first time tonight with the heater / upper vents (I’m at 7k miles). It also seems like the airflow is restricted. I do not want my dash ripped apart. If it’s intermittent I’ll live with it. How annoying. Anyone have an update on this issue?

Mine has done this from day one. It’s a little annoying but I couldn’t imagine having my dash removed and introducing even more potential issues and definitely not trying to return the truck under lemon law over such a frivolous nuisance.
I just reminded myself that it’s a midsize truck and not a luxury or exotic car and turned the radio on. Now, I don’t hear it at all ?‍♂. Hope this helps.

I’ve let it go. It doesn’t do it on cooling, only heating. Since I live in Texas I’m only using heating 25% of the year so it’s fine.

I didn’t even think to check it with A/C. I bought the truck and shortly after it got cold. I’m still tinkering on it occasionally, if I figure out a non-invasive solution, I’ll let you know.

Hi,
I have a TRD off road 2024 hybrid, I notice the same noise only when I use face vent… only vent makes no noise! It is so disappointing with a truck that cost so much, Toyota it is not anymore the quality it used to be.
I don’t know if we are to OBCD and all the Tacoma do that noise.

Does the dealer have fixed the noise for the other one concerned?

Toyota replaced my truck's hvac assembly in an attempt to fix this, issue remains.

Sounds like they have no idea how to fix, I gave up going back to the dealership.

Wondering if anyone has any updates on this issue.
I have a 2024 TRD Sport and noticed the issue about a year ago.
I mentioned it to a tech when I picked up my truck from a separate service and he was able to hear it too, but I had not chased the issue since as I still had my previous issue (belt chirp) to address first.

I’m now hoping to get this issue fixed as it is quite noticeable when I have the fan on.
-happens intermittently while driving (without adjusting fan settings)
-noticeable with and without AC
-noticeable with low to high heat settings
-worst sounding when dash and floor vents are on, also quite obvious with just the floor vent on
-sound is not constant, woo be louder for a few seconds the goes quieter
-can consistently replicate by turning fan on top setting, then lowering by 1

The sound reminds me of a microphone picking up audio feedback.

I usually have my music on which drowns out the sound, but it would be nice not to hear it when my music isn’t on.

Please let me know if anyone has successfully had this issue fixed.
