Yeah, I think the truck's programmed to keep a minimum amount of energy in the batteries: 2-3 out of 8 bars, and not to treat the batteries like a backup unit where we'd want to keep it fully charged.
That in mind, what I think makes sense for camping and other trips is to bring a backup battery (DJI, Pecron, Ecoflow, etc.) that you use, and just use the truck as a generator to recharge that battery as needed.
It's not perfect, my ideal would be a 'prime' plugin trailhunter that I could use as a battery and partially recharge with solar (and while we're at it, let's make it a diesel electric series hybrid too
) --- but I think this is the way to use it that makes sense. Sounds like the truck is better used as a generator and not as energy storage.
