Installing MTM on a 2024 Toyota Tacoma TRD Off-Road?

Hi everyone,

I recently bought a 2024 Toyota Tacoma TRD Off Road from CARVANA and to say it's barebones is an understatement. I bought it because it was a manual transmission. I'd like to start adding some of the features and I am wondering if this group could help me/point me in the directions of what parts to order to take my backup camera system to a full MTM system. I look at the parts list and overwhelmed because the camera system has so many variations.

We could pull all the part numbers and find every part you need, but...

It will be cheaper, easier, and quicker to sell your truck and buy one with the TRD Premium Package. Seriously.

The only other option would be to find a wrecked TRD with the premium package and pull all the parts you need. I bet that would still be over $4k in used parts after you add up the head unit, modules, cameras, wire harnesses, etc, etc...

Thanks for the response. I had a feeling this was going to be a monumental pain in the ass. Getting a Manual Transmission was already a pain, and that was my primary objective. If I knew the list of equipment, I could start purchasing slowly over time so my pocket book isn't getting hit all at once.

You are going to need to pore over all of the electrical parts diagrams to find parts that are specific to the TRD w/ Premium package. The MTM runs on the 14" display, which then requires a full retrofit of the entire audio system to JBL spec. Then all of the wire harnesses that are unique to that spec, cameras, modules, etc.

Like I said... I wouldn't even attempt it. Swapping the wire harnesses will require you to gut your interior down to the bare cab.

Thank you so much. I already have the 14 inch screen. I found the camera parts but as I look at it, I will also need to update my grill, the rearview light/camera assembly, side mirror assembly just to name a few....

I forgot that the 14" JBL system could be included without the Premium Package!

Now the big question is which wire harnesses your truck has. This could be much easier than I thought.
